Looks like a pretty great deal on a used AP RO.

Sweet timepiece
This one also, if in fact it is legit, which it seems to be, is a VERY good deal.

man im deciding if i wanna speed four hundo on a watch… geeze expensive for no purpose really… you know besides time
I do agree that the main function of a timepiece is to, yes in fact, tell time. There is, however, another layer to the whole mega-expensive watch phenomenon. Part of it truly is a status symbol, (“look at how much I paid for this, ooohhhh.”), another part is the mechanical side of, well, mechanical watches. The technology that goes into making a watch that can be accurate to +/- 2 seconds per month is simple when it comes to quartz watches. Most quartz timepieces are in fact much more accurate than their mechanical counterparts.
To do the same thing with a mechanical watch (driven by a wound up spring and regulated by a geartrain) is a great feat, most mechanical watches are considered accurate if they stay within +/- 6 seconds per day. With most of the ultra high-end timepieces, materials also play a key role. Gold, Platinum, Palladium, high-end ceramics, etc… all bring the price up as well. Most people that purchase these watches are drawn to them by one or more of these facets. For me, it’s a combination of mechanical technology and fusion of materials. Just my $0.02.
Nice watch.
I want to pull the trigger on this:

Price seems right.
Fire away!! very nice piece and a great price with the leather strap and bracelet.
Yeah I pretty much look at it like driving a supercar. Sure you can buy something way cheaper that will probably be more reliable in the long run and do a better job of getting you from point a to b but what fun is that?
Watches are like cars, people may buy them as a status symbol or out of appreciation for it’s ability/abilities and the effort that goes into making it.
Since that’s said and done that seems like an excellent deal for that audemars piguet.
i actually got a little hard from that. it’s unfortunate that i can’t afford such a thing.
.
Is it? I don’t follow JLC prices too closely but that’s not a gyro so the price seems fairly reasonable for the complication. Shit JLC’s are notoriously well priced due to their manufacturing division (they make a lot of movements for other co’s so their in-house movements cost less). Hell there was a beautiful JLC perpetual cal FS on tz not too long ago for a wonderful price.
Personally, I only like the ROO w/ a white face.
Sinn is nice, but if you’re going to DD that watch I’d be concerned about the PVD holding up; great movement in that one though
Thanks for the thoughts, I like the watch, but it would get DD’d, and if it was to breakdown ( already stated to be at 85% ) I’d be dissapointed. A simple B+R isn’t much more, but then again, it’s just another B+R
Sinn and BR are both great pieces. Get a tegimented Sinn and it will really hold up to some abuse. Or you could just buy my BR that I don’t often wear any more.
I don’t follow JLC much at all but I figured a great condition Tourbillon for $26K seemed like a good deal considering you see most hedging into the $50k range. Now I just wish I could find a reasonably priced minute repeater.

im just stuck on which color i want
51 mm?
that’s manny fresh big.
those are both ugly as sin IMO. I have almost a carat of diamonds in my watch and didn’t pay anything close to $26g’s. What a joke. Guess I just don’t get it lol
Cause jewels don’t make a watch any more rare. A limited production time piece is like having a limited production piece of art.
I have an sti but when i tell people i spend 30k on it they think i could have had something nicer with leather seats, a sunroof and alot more classy… Its all in who you ask. I personally wouldnt want diamonds in a watch.
still though… $26,000? and its used? holy shitballs.
