yeah, slower acceleration is sweet
you can/will drop .5 sec with a d16 trans vs. the d15 trans.
its been proven time and time agian on the sohc forums.

the best mod for the d15 is to ditch the fucking transmission
but I do love shifting out of 2nd at 63…
when you’re reving the engine over the stock 6900rpm rev limiter 2nd gets up near 70, and 3rd will run up over 110… 4th and 5th are retarded.
with the d16 trans and 4.9 fd 2nd was good for 55 ish
and you were luck to get to 90 in 3rd
a stock z6 or y8 trans with a lsd would probably be the best/easiest for his setup. or he could mix and match gears, but that takes a little grinding and some elbow grease.

i didnt do any highway driving, so the fuel mileage was better with the shorter gearing. i could cruise in 5th at 25-30 all day long without bogging
I think I’m going to look into a d16, with infinitude 4.9 FD gear.
I saw a similar video when a wrx beat an evo so by relation i must be faster then the both of you :-p
