Ok fine, no Type R for the winter...another car...

So, I got a great deal on a winter car that I just couldn’t pass up. I got a '97 Corolla to take me through the winter, so it should serve me just well. The interior was pretty dirty, so I yanked it all yesterday, and now I’m going through the very timely process of cleaning up another 15 year old car yet again…but it should come out well, this car was well taken care of. It’s not even rotted! I’ll take some photos later on…

Great car for sure, winter or not.

Lol was this at all influenced by my Chevy Prizm? I remember we talked about how the car was a tank lol.

Ha. I forgot you were going to winter drive the teg.

like

You know you have pictures.
Post them already. I know you have them.

They do not need to be edited of cleaned up. Just enough to get the idea.

*I failed at finding your rant about meet pics taking too long to hit the speed.

Actually no, I wasn’t even looking, just one of those right place, right time things…

And Hrab, you fail at everything. FYI, you’re driving us tomorrow…

I"ll post photos tonight or tomorrow…

Meh, my wife had a Prizm back when we were in college. The car was a turd and I’d much rather rock the teg in the winter. Sell the Corolla and put the money into snow tires for the teggy.

Nah, decision has been made to drive the Corolla. It is a turd, you’re right, but that was the point…

I drove a '97 corolla in the winter many times…get a good set of tires and you are golden.

I just can’t go back to driving turds. It was ok when I was in college, poor, and hadn’t experienced anything better but the idea of a 5 to 6 month sentence behind the wheel of a Corolla when with a much nicer car tucked away in the garage just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. I understand the idea of keeping a clean car but just not worth it to me. To each his own though.

Never bothered me…plus, I got 3 nice cars in the garage, not just 1! I’m used to it. I went from a near new S60 R to a nearly 20 year old MR2 before…didn’t bother me…in fact, I almost feel wrong driving something nice through a WNY winter…this will be fun…if I hit something, who cares!

Joes teg isn’t just any old integra, type rs are becoming increasingly difficult to find in the shape that his is in. Driving a beater through winter sucks but buffalo happens

Ok…so this is the first automatic I’ve ever owned…it’s been 4 days and I can’t take it anymore…this just might be the world’s most boring car…so much so, that for the first time, I’ve named one of my cars…

Gentlemen, meet Turdle:

I can’t imagine having probably 60-75,000 dollars invested in semi-interesting cars and spending 1/3-1/2 of the year driving a ~500 dollar POS

but it has the gold package.

man you prolly could have picked up my SpecV form Niagra Nissan instead of that thing…its got new snows lol

Nah, I’ve spent enough time in Spec V’s, plus I was working with a small budget.

Now THAT I would be interested in when you’re ready to sell

Shit, I’ll sell it next week. since no one seems interested in the Accord, I’ll keep it myself and drive that. Just ordered $450 in parts off RockAuto for the Corolla…by mid next week the car will have brand new…

  1. All new fluids, oil/trans./PS/brake/etc.
  2. Front pads/rotors
  3. All new brake lines/fuel lines from front to back
  4. Fuel tank
  5. New complete rear suspension (shocks, casings, springs, upper strut mounts, etc.)

It doesn’t even need all that, but I wanted to be safe with biweekly trip from NYC to Buffalo. It’ll be perfect then…

PM if you’re interested or want to come see it. The car is solid.
