It’s a european thing, something to do with tire width/fender poke rules AND it’s not just a vw thing. People do it to EVERY kind of car in europe, even your beloved wrx. Plus it seems the ever so popular VIP style from japan is starting to do it as well…oh wait I forgot japan can do no wrong.
