All the infants’ urine had phthalates. Use of powder, lotion and shampoo was tied to higher concentrations, especially in younger infants. No such link was found with use of pacifiers, plastic toys or diaper cream.
Lead author Sheela Sathyanarayana, an acting assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, advised parents of newborns to buy phthalate-free baby products and “limit [phthalate] exposures to the lowest amount possible.”
Reminds me of a country song on the radio the other day:
We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead-based paint
No childproof lids
No seatbelts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets
and still here we are
Still here we are
We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside
Playing outside
~
School always started the same everyday
the pledge of allegiance, then someone would pray
not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed but that was alright
We turned out alright
~
No bottled water
We’d drink from a garden hose
And every Sunday,
All the stores were closed.
Wait till you have a kid man. It’s insane what you see some of the other parents doing. My wife’s cousin won’t take her baby with her shopping because she’s afraid of kidnappings. In Lancaster. :bloated:
We went over there one night for dinner and my daughter was just learning to stand, so she’d stand for a few seconds then plop on her butt and laugh. First time she does it my wife’s cousin runs over going “is she ok” all worried. The kid is laughing and trying to climb back up the coffee table to do it again.
Some parents are just insane and intent on raising the most socially akward overprotected kid the world has ever seen.
I shop at tops in Lancaster all the time -i always look to see if their are unattended children roaming around. Fuck snatching purses, you know what a healthy baby goes for overseas!? Pssshhh!
I’m not going to be overprotective. I remeber hearing about all the shit I went thru as a kid, and I rmember the regular ass-beatings my brother handed out.
Thank god for bully’s in school, because without them, these kids won’t learn a fucking thing.
I can’t believe how much things have changed just since I was a kid. My sister is 12 years younger than me, and I want to slap the shit out of my Dad and Step mom for the way she’s being raised. If I did half the shit that she did, I would have a lot of scars to tell stories about.
When I was a toddler, my mom left my dad in charge while she went to the neighbor’s for a tupperware party. Apparently my dad took his eyes off me for a split second, and I was drinking the can of baby powder like a bottle. He freaked out and called poison control, but they said I would be ok. I turned out pretty normal… right?
says its in lubes too, does that mean repeated use of condoms can lead to the inability to have kids, thus making the use of a condom useless and costing the companys millions? bwahahaha
