OMG SNOW 2009-2010 thread - driving, pictures, etc

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, the annual “taking out of my mailbox” already happened.:bloated:
Actually it happens several times per winter. The problem is there is no shoulder and if I move it back the mailman will be stuck in the ditch.

My 4 miles to work was fine, and I have bald summer tires on still.

A friend of mine who lives on rt 75 in Eden has the same problem. Every year a the mailbox would get taken out by a plow. Never failed.

So he took a 15’ I-Beam and cemented it into the ground, then put the mailbox on that. He was watching the next time a plow decided to hit it and said he thought the back wheels were going to lift off the ground. Spun the truck around, bent the I-beam, but that mailbox still stood tall, with just a little bit of tilt.

DO THIS

BRING ON THE SNOW

1.) Make a 4ft tall concrete post and anchor it about 4ft in the ground in the summer.
2.) Mount your mailbox to that.
3.) Mount in view of said mailbox and record next winter.
4.) profit?

I have thought about doing something like that. lol

I am loving the BMW X-Drive loaner while my car is getting work done and snows mounted.

X…

This was the first real snow I have witnessed in a few years. I was so excited I stood outside at 3AM and just watched it fall for a few min. It’s good to be home!

To the fucktard who felt it necessary to weave across all 3 lanes of Walden Ave this morning, you can go fuck yourself. Granted the lines were only halfway visible this morning and clearly you need them to understand what the word straight means. :fu:

LMFAO!!! I demand video footage. Is this someone I know?

To the guy going 2mph up Clearfield this morning in the 5 series BMW… stop being a cheap fuck and buy some snow tires, or stay off the roads.

Welp, looks like I’m done driving the Mustang for the year:(

That would be schweeeeet.

I need to start designing a monster mailbox. Bwaaaaahhhhh!

I spoke about doing something similar with a mailbox… what we did at my dads… and all people did was bitch and say it was illegal and that I/he would have to pay for the plows repair, and be liable if someone hit it, etc etc etc…

We did a 6" steel pipe buried about 5’ deep surrounded and filled with concrete.

I am thinking spring loaded or something like that.

Heh my grandma’s mailbox gets run over every year so my Uncle and I made this really nice colored concrete mailbox post (think concrete counter top for visuals) and it came out fucking sweet. Only problem is she won’t let us put it up because she doesn’t want to be sued by some asshole from eagle heights when they destroy themselves on it.

Remember Bundles?

Hahaha hes the first person I thought of when I read your story

There has to be some sort of creative way of using an air cylinder here somewhere.
