The GTO is not a Holden Monaro, a Holden Monaro is a GTO. The GTO originated in the US in the 60’s. The GTO interior styling is the typical GM interior, similar to a Cobalt, similar to a Corvette.
The 04-06 GTO is a re-badged holden monaro/vauxhall vxr.

Look at Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds- they all had v6 options and theres generally more of the v6 models than the v8 models.
