Evo or WRX would definately be a better all weather daily driver than a GTO.
- 1 i get headaches because of a car crash i was in when i was 9yrs old in the backseat fuckin slammed my neck
ok kanye
:rofl
yeah thats perfectly logic, why don’t u see it
LOL nah beater for the winter and nice car for the summer, if its on a loan i highly suggest this
:lol + 1
I dont think the GTO is anywhere near a good choice, but u get what u wanna get it, its a cool car i guess, i can’t talk anyways look at wat i drive, nothin to look at
Nah, food stamps or not, it’s “mo’ balla” to run two WhiPZ yO!!!
Good post, as for the bold part, see “Readers Rides” here and scratch the “reliable” part out and there you have 'em! :lol
3800 will keep it planted alright. When it’s at zero mph.
When that mass starts to move in any direction, I am guessing that is where people run into problems.
I thought they made somewhere like 290 HP and low 300s TQ at 3800+ lbs… I’m sure the mass has a lot do with the snow driveability.
I really want a Holden Monaro.
The Vauxhall VX-R is cool too, but it’s still a Vauxhall. :lol
I really want a '78-'80 Monte Carlo but that doesnt mean Im getting one.
The Holden is actually a great car for every day driving. It’s rugged and the ergonomics are awesome on it. You really have to drive one of them to appreciate it.
Second, you guys act like we live in Winnipeg when it comes to winter driving. Ninety percent of the time the roads are clear in our area, and when we do get heavy snow I don’t plan on leaving my house. My job doesn’t require it and HVCC isn’t so important where I can’t miss a day of class due to weather if it’s not cancelled already.
I’ll be living at Siena in the fall, so I won’t have to drive at all to get to class/work if (GOD FORBID) a snowflake or two falls from the sky.
I don’t have room to store this thing for winter, and I really wanted one of these ever since they came out in 2004. There are no compromises for me, it’s all or nothing. I understand you guys have your project cars and daily drivers on top of that, but like I was explaining to my father earlier last week: I am not you.
You’re about to buy a Pontiac dumbass.
It’s a Holden Monaro with Pontiac emblems on it.
You’re funny.
Have you ever driven one in the snow and/or on cold, salt covered roads? I doubt it, because I know if you did, you would know what you were talking about.
dude , get it if u want it, but honestly u kno its because u want the car, not because its a good winter car choice… its gonna suck more than most shit in the snow and u know it lollll
i cant imagine how a heavy RWD car like that with that power is gonna feel even slightly comfortable at all in the snow and ice vs a lighter car…
that weight comes with its inertia bro
i seen a GTO with an OEM monaro “body kit” on it on m3forum.net and ls1tech.
and talking about sucking… whoooooa mpg !!
and wtf have you driven? dads trailblazer does not count.
And you’re saying that you HAVE driven one in the snow and/or on cold salt covered roads…and you know for a fact that it’s going to be amazing in the snow? You’re still funny.
I didnt say anything about the car being an awesome winter vehicle. Not even close. It’s do-able, and as soon as I pick mine up it’s going to have studded tires in the rear and regular snows on the front.
As for driving experiences like I JUST said, I drove the 5.7l version last winter in the snow (with shitty ass all season tires on all 4 corners), and a few 6.0l’s recently.
I’m done with this discussion. Happy new year to you guys as well.
I had a similar accident 2 years ago practicing my mad tyte drifting skills. Slid into a curb going “35 mph”. Almost 12k in damage and they didnt total it. But back then my car was worth like 18
That was you who texted me about the roof dimple, wasn’t it? :lol
I lost my contacts because my old SIM card took a SHIT and I had all of my numbers stored on the SIM. bull SHIT
Yeah it was me lol. Sorry for the confusion.

RWD is really good in the snow, just need good tires. I’m never buying a FWD car again :lol
