like you said…they don’t have it cause they are past it…our society is not.
they have better schools…go to westinghouse, wilkensburgh, etc…check out those schools & then tell me why they are not educated as well.
my friend teaches @ westinghouse & the kids there don’t even get books to take home because its not in the budget…thats fucked up.
i’m not saying minorites(women included) deserve anything…but they are not treated equal in todays society & thats is why there are things that you think are racist…like afermative action, BET, etc… which are in place to try & keep a level playing field.
one good things is that you do think its not needed…that shows that you consider everyone equal…but it also shows that you think that everyone is treated equal…which they are not.

yeah, schooling is held to a higher standard in South America, but so is parenting… you have poeple out busting their ass day and night to pay for schooling because the shit isn’t handed to them… they understand and stress to their kids that working hard and leveling out of the lower ring of society is the way to make it in life… hard work pays off and you’ll be well off later in life…
i think that welfare and public schooling is bullshit… more so welfare, but the fact of public schoolings mandatory enrollments and taxation… i think that it’s 95% of the time the parents fault and that a lot of this could be resolved with a better understanding of how to achieve in life.

one of the best ideas out there came from charles rutledge, who was one of the original litigants of affirmative action… basically he’s said that “america will not forget the past and hearts won’t change” (regarding slavery / to oppression in the 50’s) “these are hard memories, but these memories do not reflect the memories of today’s america. No one says forget, but we should recognize obvious progress, and maintain perspective.”
