Depending on the riding that you’re doing would determine the bike, like smokey said.
I’ve been itching to get another bike. I’ve been looking at RM250s or the CRF450. I am thinking about the CRF because I’m not going to be on a track, but I still jump alot on boney piles, strip mine high walls, etc. 4stroke would be alot less of a headache. Kick it over and go. No worrying about top ends all of the time.
Think of how you’re going to ride, how big you are, etc. Then pick a bike. A 125 takes alot of clutching to keep it in the powerband. 250 or 450 always has the power right there when you need it.
i didnt mean too much power to handle. i just wanted to know if it felt pretty fast for a 125. i figure since u owned a 250, you could be a good judge of if it felt pretty quick for a 125. i dont fault u for goin down in snow / ice…bikes dont go well in that stuff w/o studs. haha
cool. thanks for the pic. i just wanted to see what kind of pipe u had. DEP, same as mine. they r good pipes for mid and top end power. does the power somewhat weak down low if the revs r low, then rush on real sudden? cause thats how the pipe makes my rm run. it took away all low end, but i keep it opened up anyway, so i dont care in most situations
Like everyone else has said it all depends on your size, style, and what type of riding you will be doing. I rode a couple of 250f’s and felt it is a solid bike, but also thought there is a little bit of over hype over it. For most situations it is a great bike and is decently fast…just don’t try to drag race a 250 2stroke with one, then you might want to get one of those instead
dude if u are under 200 pounds buy a 250f any brand is good and if u are over 200 i would buy a 450… but if u are going to buy a thumper be ready to spend some cash if u want a yamaha i know some people that know some people…
4 strokes are gay. A couple of my friends have them and they are fun to rip around on, but nothing touches the instant powerband/sound/smell of a 2 stroke. I wish they would come out with a modern 450cc 2 stroke to put those big bore cheater thumpers in their place.
