Opinions on this car?

Yes.

If you’re going to college save your money man. Seriously. My '04 Cobra had 8k miles and in the 4 months I owned it I put 4k miles on it. I felt kinda bad having such a nice car as my daily and to be honest it almost was more trouble than it was worth. I wouldnt drive mine if there was a cloud in the sky, always worrying about parking away from people so I didnt get door dings, and just being way more worried about keeping the car pristine made it not very enjoyable. Sure the fact I had 450rwhp was a fucking blast but I dunno, when it got totalled I decided to just put a good chunk of money away and then when I graduate Ill be able to make a nice DP on a house or pay cash for a really nice car. Plus you can find cars all day for under $10k that are reliable and a blast to drive. Just my .02 cents as I’ve been in your shoes.

Jeff is a old man out of college

His opinion will be

135>*

Because he owns one.

That seems steep on a used 135i, but I could be mistaken.

Does it still have the BMW maintenaince included?

my father in law just traded in his 5 series for an 2010 E550 Coupe and if his company didn’t reimburse for maintenance he would have bought another 540…

get a camaro you can get the tires for around 240… but i would look into a used 335xi over anything else if your worried about winter… i still atleast got my truck.

I doubt it.

I am sure he did his research on it before buying one and he has real world experience with it.

If he was talking to a d-bag like yourself, he may say that, but not Jeff95TA.

I would go with the G37 or Genesis Coupe.

i was strongly considering a 335 when i got my sts. I would still go back to the 335 if i wasnt looking to get married. Its a great car i also did a little valet on the side at my last job… I drove a 335 many times in the stick version. It was the easiest to use and actualy learned to drive stick on a bmw. the xi is resonable price especially at a 4 door. but the 2 door is hard to find especially with a certified warrenty. Overall its a really nice car ! Id get one if i could ! great brakes / handeling and its comfortable but the stereo is something to be desired even in the upgraded model.

WTF TT 3.0? Never heard of this. That looks like a badass car! If you can afford the beemer (obviously since you are looking at it) , get it!

G37’s are sick too!

I have never even seen the 135’s til now… they have really nice lines! I like!

The only tires I see (at least on Tire Rack) are front/rear:

Pirelli PZero: $366/$407
Yokohama ADVAN S.T.: $235/$303
Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow: $235/$267

And I know I won’t have the tires taken off the rims to be rotated.

Maybe I’m making too big of a deal over tires. :dunno:

im guessin that the 135 tires wont be cheap either. i mean i def see what your saying there buddy but remember you will only be changing the fronts for every 3 sets of the rears

You’re right. Neither are the Infiniti G37 19". I think I’ve come to grips with reality and given up on the BMW and the Infiniti, maybe everything for now. We were looking at mortgage refinancing, expenses, etc, and college will basically be like a fairly high car payment. And I’d like to have the house paid off in 7-10 years. Freakin’ responsibilities!

I hear ya! I wanna buy a Diesel truck but can’t justify another car payment right now, since I have a company vehicle that is completely free to me.

diesel :yum:

thanks Miss Cleo

compared to mustang or an infiniti… :hsugh:

well owning a 13k Rio really does level set your excellence with automotive appraisals. :booty:

figure with the package installed it would have stickered for around 40,500 or 41k?

Sorry I didn’t see this Jeff… I haven’t been spending as much time online.

It seems that you’re past the 135i… I would say that given what i read, that’s a great thing. The OEM tires are absolute garbage… to date, i’ve owned it a year and a few months and broke 2 OEM wheels, bent 1 other and have gone through 6 tires… luckily I have a replacement warranty for tires, but the last set of replacement rears was about $1050.00 out the door(OEM Runflats at 255/35/18). Recently I had a bulb go in the rear LED style parking light… turned out not to be the bulb, but rather the wiring for it and it seems that many others have similar issues which have all resulted in a week at the dealer and a new taillight… so there is a potential recall. The maintenance costs are astronomical, so if that plays a role in your decision, call and ask how much some of the more ‘basic’ items cost. Yes if you buy new you get 4 years 60k mile service? They are good in that they give you loaner cars, pick yours up and deliver it… but in the end it’s a PITA.

The car is a great car to drive and is AWESOME with programming… I have a friend with downpipes and the same ECU as me running 12.2’s at 116mph. Again, the tires are garbage and at 60MPH if i drop it into 3rd and hit the gas on the highway, i will leave two slightly dark strips for at least 20 ft… run flat tires are like marble lined with hoosier treadwear rubber… they will lay tire marks just making a turn and shifting from 2nd to 3rd without being an idiot.

Daily driving would be awesome, however the car is incredibly small…not small and stupid like a z4 or miata or something, but the rear seat is pretty much unusable. The truck space is on par, my golf clubs fit with tons of room to spare.

the car is the same N54 engine as in the 335, a 3.0l Twin turbo 6 cyl. Gas mileage is around 20mpg with the ECU… lighter than the 335i and kills the 335xi due to weight and awd vs. rwd.

If you are going to get a daily and actually rely on it… and like to drive, then I wouldn’t get a 135… I end up driving my S4 5 times over my 135… rain, snow, mud, etc no issue in the Audi… really really ugly in the 135. If i had the BMW at the haunted house in south park last saturday we would still b e spinning trying to get home… the audi just needed a quick rinse off to get the mud off the flaps, doors, trunk, roof, and windows  haha.

People say it’s ugly and girly, but in the end they are driving much shittier cars… and beyond that, probably just trying to call me out in some very insignificant way. a car is more about how it drives and feels than looks. I can’t say that I LOVE the 135’s appearance… but i do love to DRIVE the car.

If you want, you are more than welcome to check it out next time i drive down to the garage… i’m still not that far from your house and drive it around until there is snow on the ground.

I’ve owned imports 3 series, E class, etc their a pita. The dealerships rip you off. They rape you on parts and labor. A lot of parts you can’t get for do it yourselfers. The dealership is trying to dump the car with a standard shift because they know the resale is bad on them. I was looking at X-5’s and when I drove a Jeep srt8 I had almost the same car for less than half of the price with the incentives at the time. I can do most of the maintanence myself or at a local shop if I want. I put about $1500 in mods and it blows the bimmer’s away even the M’s. European’s do have the edge in the interiors but not for double the price. Just my 2cts.

So basically 135 > *

:kekegay:

hi, wtf are you talking about? LOL comparing an x5 to a SRT8 jeep LOL!!!

anyway, yes they are expensive and the dealership is used to dealing with people with lots of money and zero desire to work on cars.

and you can surely get any part that is manufactored for the car… maybe you mean at a discounted price or a chinese aftermarket… if a car is production the parts are avalible and any parts counter… you can order a drop out motor or tranny from a parts dept???

btw, “M” cars are slow from the factory, oh and btw btw, your jeep is slow as well

incorrect… but true compared to the options listed.
