out of market tv?

I stumbled upon a forum a few years ago, that where people had their cable boxes hooked up to the internet, and you could rent their subscription for whenever you wanted.

You can get all the channels from pretty much any market.

They broadcast it over the internet, and you could control the cable box with a virtual remote.

I forget what this is called, is there a way for me to watch Buffalo TV from Texas once in a while?

I like to catch a Bills game or Canadian TV or Sabres once in a while, but don’t need to have it 24x7.

I had NFL package, and I don’t really care to pay for that to watch a few games a year.

I know that time warner blocks this somehow, but they were getting around it, i’m not sure what the deal was.

Thanks,

Justin

I assume you still have friends and family in the Buffalo area? Just buy a slingbox and ask one of them to hook it to a tv they rarely use.

cool thanks I will send my brother one.

Or get DirectTV and mail each other a box. Just don’t hook it up to phone or internet.
