paint

anyone know who paints car for cheap… all i need done is hood, grill, and bumper cover for my jetta… earl shieb costs to much… and i really dont want to do the whole car…

Roberts Audo Body is reasonable and from what I hear they do a really good job. Mark (SP71Supra) gave me a really good quote for fixing some dings on one of my doors, just haven’t decided if I want to do it yet or not.

 Thanks for the referral, but if Earl is too expensive for him I couldnt imagine what he would think of my quote! :scared:

Well, you can’t go too cheap. Like I said, your quote for my car was really good considering how thorough of a job your were going to do. But then I found more damage on my rear door and I figured I would try and fix it myself and see how it looks. I was just worried about paying to have you do it professionally and then end up having some a-hole ding my car again.

Thanks :bigok: I appreciate it!

Smort38 is a machine with a spray can from what i hear

you get what you pay for. just keep that in mind and that is esp true with bodywork.

x2, No one really knows how much time goes into making something truly straight unless you have done reputable body work before.

for sure the price of materials is negligible once you see how much labor is involved. and even if you cheap out on materials it is still not “cheap”

How many price increases have you seen in the last 2-3 years? i couldn’t even quote anymore the price changed so often. consumables? have someone price out a roll of tape and gallon of laquer thinner  hopefully they will see how much this stuff cost.

I just payed 83.00 for a pint of paint and didn’t even use a 1/4 of it .That doesn’t count reducer or clear coat

:wtf: lol cracks me up how people spend thousands to buy a car and they bitch when you want hundreds to repair it. Half the time it was their own dam fault the car is messed up, but they still bitch at you for being to expensive like its your fault they wrecked!

I see 2-3 price Increases in one year with PPG and thats just my liquid materials!

 i spent $6800 this month in paint!

I believe it . I haven’t bought any in a while and when they told me how much I told him I didn,t want stock just a pint of paint

Yup, I know how it is, believe me! Yeah our BASF Glasurit gas gone through the ROOF! I think their 55 line good clear runs around $375/gallon!

holy ballz! that shit better spray itself for that much $ lol!

i just want something that will last and match, the jetta is my everyday car, now if it was the rsx i would go high dollar top qaulity…

I can vouch that Mark does better than OEM work at a fair price and quick turn around.

x2. I’ve seen a few pieces of his work first hand. Excellent stuff!
