for sure the price of materials is negligible once you see how much labor is involved. and even if you cheap out on materials it is still not “cheap”
How many price increases have you seen in the last 2-3 years? i couldn’t even quote anymore the price changed so often. consumables? have someone price out a roll of tape and gallon of laquer thinner 
hopefully they will see how much this stuff cost.
