painting a car in mat/flat colours

quick and simple im looking into painting more.
and im interested in the mat/flat version of most colours rather then the gloss.

  • just wondering how i get the mat/flat finish, with a protective coat ontop.
  • do all clear coats create a gloss coat ontop of a mat/flat base paint?

thanks

I think its spelled Matte
go to Fairdeal tell them to give you a Base clear paint job w/o the clear pick any color lol

Or i can grab you a color from my Supplier.

house of colour makes a line if matte finishes. green, blue, black. big bucks tho.
if u want cheap get a satin finish.

If you want it done right spend the money on a real matte from HOK. The issue with most flat colors is they are porous meaning they absorb water which isnt good for the paint or the metal.

From my limited knowledge I dont know of a way to protect the paint other than putting a clear coat on it but that means your flat look is gone.

BASF makes a line of paint that has flat base with a matte finish…basically a satin finish…flat color with a protective layer (matte clear). Basically what you wanted

Kinda Like that^^^

tell them you want the paint code for the engine bay, which usually do not have a clear coat.

this will help
