Part Time Work...?

Anyone on here that has SUBSTANTIAL technical ability looking for some part time work with the possibility of future full time employment? If so, toss a message my way with a few details.

What’s the rate?

starts @ 15, cash

Per half hour?

Haha, no… Not when I can steal Dodge A-techs for 15-20 that already know the core components. That would be a close rate to a fabricator/TIG welder/electrical systems specialist, which I currently handle. In the future, more than likely, but I need the new building and space to expand beyond what I can handle first.

This is more basic tech type work, all high-end relatively clean cars, low drag environment, air conditioning, etc. How good someone is and their strong suites determines where they may end up as the business expands.

this sounds like fun/good hard work for someone who wants to make a living being a mechanic on exotic cars, i’d work on those cars for free if you ever needed a spare set of hands

Haha, you would never know that… everyone thinks they are worth their weight in gold, but forgets that dealership A-Techs only make 18-22, with 25K+ in their own tools, without A/C, working on dirty rusty cars and on book time rather than straight time.

Let me have someone show up here that knows electrical {fucking CORRECTLY}, tech, can think outside the box, TIG weld and fabricate, and solve problems without me having to babysit, and then we will talk about more money. Until then, anyone is NOT worth more than a dealership tech is. Also, people seem to get bent about “well you charge X, why are you only paying me Y?” Tell you what… you pay the insurance, take the risk of investments, buy the tools, do the R&D and engineering, work 80 hours a week, drive 100 miles a day and have a phone bill out the ass dealing with suppliers, correct the mistakes, deal with taxes and overhead, and pay for every fuckup that anyone else makes out of your pocket, and then you can keep the balance too.

Or, you can take reasonable pay at reasonable hours, help build a business that is growing, cement your place in its future, become a professional with certain skills and ASK for more money when you become worth it, with a virtually limitless advancement potential if you are good enough.

:gotme:

I could detail the cars for you, but i am not a fan of turning wrenches.

Very well said. People do not realize all the time, money for tools, supplies and all the extras one deals with while owning a business.

low drag environment? like all the walls are parametric curves? or the floor is super polished?

pics of cars!

Good luck with your find!

I’ll tig weld for you. $80.00/hour.

there is money left over after ll that ?

haha, you fun man !

Nailed it!

Or… I could just mean you wont have to deal with the bullshit that goes down in most shops with people skimming work orders, book time and broken rusty bolt nightmares, and working on boring cars and projects.

Unfortunately for you… I am pretty damn stack-o-nickles good, and I don’t charge myself that kind of rate

Probably not… which could explain a lot!

Not making your employees dream about stabbing you in the face goes a long way.

Just sayin.

(free bump)

I should probably also mention that this is an afternoon and/or evening offering, any time frame from 4pm-12am weekdays, 12-12 weekends, up to 6 days a week. In other words, extremely flexible.

Cash means no insurance, wokmans comp, etc… good luck with that. what happens when your employee gets hurt working for you. are you covering his disibility? not tryin to be a dick but some one would be a fool to work on the side for someone else

dbl post sorry

Cool story bro, you might want to tell that to the 50% of the work force that does it. To each his own, stupid is as stupid does. A person who uses their brain can generally avoid accidents, and its no different than doing side jobs yourself, or owning your own business for that matter. Its called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Learn the words.

For anyone unsure,
-Fire is hot.
-if you refrain from smashing your hands with the hammer, you don’t get broken fingers from the hammer.
-If you cut through the material you are cutting, and continue to cut until you begin to cut yourself, you may need stitches.
-If you drop a transmission on your foot, it will REALLY hurt and may result in a limp for a while.
-Metal shavings moving at high speed do not feel good in your eyes.
-Machines are not supposed to be used on your hands.
-Electricity can be dangerous. I suggest you put a screwdriver in your own light socket and test this theory on your own time, because my power bill is high enough already.

Any more questions on common sense?

I would consider this to be a relatively safe job. Air tools and excessive force are generally last resorts or no option at all- they break more than they fix. If you can put yourself in the hospital with a screwdriver, soldering iron and hacksaw, I might even be impressed!

I wish I knew my shit better cause this is EXACTLY what I’m looking for down the road.

good luck in your search.
