Passenger Airbag

Long story short, the cage I am having built has a dash bar that is interfering with the pass airbag. I could care less about the functionality of the airbag but need the dash to appear stock?

On an S14 (or s13 if it’s similar) it is possible to remove the the guts of the passenger airbag assemble and still run the cover.

What else can be done?

maybe disconnecting everything leading up to the bag, without taking the actual bag out?

i dunno how tricky or what kind of a PITA that is though

iirc, once you disable the airbag from the driver’s steering wheel, it disables the passenger one as well.

and if you want to enable it again, there is a sequence you have to do with the passenger door pin and it will reset.

ps: this is for an s14

u can gut it.
i jsut dotn know how lol ive seen it done though

Yes it can be gutted. Once removed the airbag itself disconnects from the actual dash liner. Unfortunately, I too dont know how its done.

The airbag can be removed and the dash can be put back. You would not be able to tell if there was a airbag behind it or not. If thats what you are wondering? 4 security torx hold it in and the wire disconnects the airbag.

Thanks boys…mucho appreciated.

Make sure your SRS lights flashes in the dash when you turn on the engine…or is this a track only car?

Hey man, isnt there a fuse sor something that runs the air bag?

On s14, after taking the airbag(s), remove the airbag blinkie-bulb from your cluster too…

Put a big steel plate over the dash so it doesn’t rip it up then trip the sensor… once you hear a BANG… air bag disabled.
