always wondered why the passenger side door on a lot of 240’s is faded? i know mine was as well as my buddies. Bad steel or something?
It might just be where you live, if you always park the same way, then maybe one side of the car got more sun.
Otherwise, I think this problem is specific to you and your friend.
i dotn think so, i’ve seen a bunch of 240’s with passenger doors faded. As well it wouldn’t have anything to do with the sun because it is only the door, the rest of the car shines except for the door
Maybe the door was replaced… Dunno, as far as I could tell, my s13 was the same colour everywhere.
My car was the same all over…same goes for all of mischeif
Ever watch old Looney Tunes cartoons?
Remember how you could always tell what object was going to move, because it was a slightly different shade than the rest of the scenery?
That’s how Japanese factories work. So the guys running the lines know which cars are supposed to be LHD and which are RHD … they just look for the lighter door.
- ok, maybe not.
But yeah, I’ve never noticed … in fact that’s the opposite of what I have noticed. Nissans always seem to die driver’s side FIRST. Every S12 or S13 I crawl around, the driver’s side is in worse condition.
I’d have to go with repaints … someone tried to color match faded paint and missed by a shade or two, or just replaced a rotted out door with one from a same color, seen more sun kind of car.
These cars rust like … well, I dunno … a 240 is the best example of “rust like” that I can think of.
“Hachi in a cracker factory?”
I’d have to say old toyotas do a way better job of rusting quickly and obviously all over the place. I’ve yet to see a rust-less celica, corolla or camry that’s older than 10 years that ISN’T covered in rust. My celly even has holes on the fenders.
paint on my car is orginial… over 200ks… but the roof has faded so bad!!! and its the only spot fading… and only spot with rust is the trunk due to the spoiler…
ndto’s celica is clean.
Even the underbody and everything? I’m impressed, that would make it the first one like that I’ve seen. All the ones I see on the road are as bad as mine or worse.
Yeah, his is really clean, and slow.
Anyways, back on topic.
we’ve got a 10 year old corolla without a spec of rust on the body
