Password Protect a computer?

My boss will not be at his work computer for 4 days but requires it to stay on with a program in the background collecting information and would like it to be protected while hes gone. I assumed I would just throw a screen saver and a password on that but Wegmans has changed some of the computer options and will not allow you to add a password via screen saver.

Is there any other method besides a screensaver password to leave the computer running in the background while A) Not having it logged off his account and B) still being active (IE no sleep mode).

Have him create a password via user accounts in the control panel… then click switch user… everything stays logged in… and others can use the computer.

As for sleep mode just adjust the power settings…

If no one is going to use the computer set a password for when it comes back from the screen saver. essentially it locks it. Its just an option in the screen saver menu

Yep…just add a password in he user accounts and hit the Windows Key + L to logout…everything still runs.

Thanks guys

Windows + L locks it aka switch user if you “logout” it closes all
The programs

nope…all programs are left running. I do this all the time to keep my brother out.

Sorry Windows + L is considered “Switch user” The term logout closes everything.

I think my lack of puncuation made it hard ol
