Haha, yeah but don’t be too impressed. He slipped about 6 times, 2 of those times almost falling down the side of a very steep ledge. He had shoes in his backpack and didn’t bother switching until we were at the top lol.
Just a couple. Both in Maui at the top of Haleakala. A newly wed couple were up there doing some pictures so I snagged this one for the hell of it.

I know I’ve had a couple different people mention Stairway to Heaven before on here, can’t remember who it was. But either way I did that last week during spring break. Pretty cool “hike.” Not really a hike because there are stairs and railings the entire way up, but it was definitely a good workout.

Looking down the steps. There were parts where you were basically climbing a latter. Definitely not a good time to slip.
Overall it wasn’t too hard. I just wish that it was clear at the top, but that’s a very rare event on that part of the island. I’ll prob get back up there next week with some people visiting so hopefully the weather is a little nicer.
In the valley of the temples. This is a Buddhist Temple called the Byodo-In. For the LOST fans, this is where Sun and Jin get married during one of the flashbacks.

Well we just had Mancation out here. Scott from the boards and another fine gentlemen came out to visit and it was a blast. Here’s some pics from that. Still more to go through. Right now I’m just taking a study break so I’ll probably get more done later.
This is Maunawili Falls. Really popular hike to come jump off and swim. You can’t see the ledge that we jumped off of in these pics. But it’s about 45ft up and to the left from the waterfall. Such an awesome place.

This was Kapena Falls. It’s actually a 2 minute walk away from a scenic lookout off the highway. I’ve driven past it soooo many times and never knew it was there until now.

Fortunately for us, Scott has a family friend out here, who also happens to have an amazing condo on the water, a boat, wakeboards, and is the coolest 59 year I’ve ever met. Just think of the guy on the Dos Equis commercials, and this guy is the real version of him. It’s amazing.
