then you’ve been easily fed a line of shit and apparantly bought it. unless those degrees are from ivy league schools i’d say you’re looking about about 40ies… maybe more, much more, if its technical and you have a skill no one at the company does.
this is pittsburgh… where
high school degree with a notary > college degree :tounge:
Here let me try this again, If you had one of those degrees, Living in Pgh, fresh out of school, what would one expect (Range), in pay salary. And 1-2 years in EXP. to back it up.
still depends on type of field again. Engineering field will/should bring more money then say a person in social work. PHDs in either usually brings vastly different amounts of money. phd social work prob max out 50k engineering prob max out 70-100k range with phd.
Alright Engineering without EIT status or PE… In Pitts would be about 39-42k normally some places offered up to 46k (for 1/2 yrs exp) - - If you have a specialty field such as Storm water management ect… .then you are looking at 50k depending again what company you get in with. But I would much rather take an ass hair of a pay cut knowing I have full benefits which cost companies $$$$$…
you can have a psych degree with social experience and start as a case worker for 20k a year… it all depends on the field… i’d say a minimium to make in downtown would be like 25k… figure parking / transportation and eating alone…
it all depends… i don’t have a degree… just wrote a contingency that when i get it i’ll get a raise… so mine is actually worth something because i made it worth something. otherwise it’s dick.
I just thought it was hilarious how newchic tried to spell it. I knew how to spell it but that why I put the definition in this thread for her 2 minutes after I posted "sp? "
Starting off… AS around 28-30 BS 32-40 MBA maybe 50 Phd depends, more self gratification than anything if not in medical field unless going to be a professor you need it. Alot of people work up to MBA’s and Phd’s, they don’t usually come fresh out of college. There is such a thing as over qualification but thats mostly from experience. Coming fresh out of college with a MBA in 5 years means that ur good at school and that doesn’t guarantee you a job. I can think of a few people that have degrees higher than mine and they are working shitty jobs like in restaurants just to pass the time because they can’t find a job in their field…or they just don’t care which in both cases is kind of sad.
16/14 per hours with an assoc. degree is decent. I would probably take the healthcare, just because I don’t know how much it is to get a private policy, but I’m pretty sure it is more than any contribution you will make to be on your company’s group policy.
The holy grail of work is with county/state/federal government or a government contractor. Yes, I was tied to a phone the entire day, but I had no contribution to healthcare or 401k. They automatically put money in it for me, but didn’t take it out of my check. Couple that with 15 vacation days, 5 sick, and every holiday you can think of and it’s a great situation.
that 2 off for benefits is a steal. that’s a good offer for an AS degree, shit i didn’t make that much for my first year outta school with a BS + extras
