Paying taxes for a car bought out of state @ dealership?

When I bought my Rover in N.J. at the dealership, I paid them N.Y. taxes and registration fees added into my purchase price. They took care of paying the tax, then N.Y. mailed me the plates and stickers a few weeks later. I never went to the DMV. I didn’t finance through the dealership either.

The dealership already told me im just paying for the car/misc fees/temp tags and im on my way…

taxes are being paid here in NYS when i regsiter the car… its a franchise honda dealer that im buying from…

if i have to pay all the taxes i will… its just annoying

right, but when the write up the bill of sale, they are not going to fudge the sale price on it. You would have to forge it before you go to the DMV. That’s taking things a bit too far.

I wonder if anyone on this board wants to admit they work at the IRS…

X…

Oh yes, its soooo annoying that I have to pay the taxes that I owe on the purchase I made

Its annoying I have to pay at all, everything should be given to me!

im just venting… its just annoying to have to pay 3k to register a car is all

You find it more annoying than paying the rest of the sales tax you pay every day? That seems special.

whatd you buy?!?!
