Back OT, PJB, I am sure that deadbeat or myself could give you a great routine, and I’m sure that we both agree that diet is more important then your routine…however you need SOME sort of routine, ha.
I actually have somewhat of a routine when I go to the gym. Monday is chest and triceps, Wednesday is back and biceps and Friday is legs. Some machines I use all 3 days. All 3 days I go I ride the exercise bike for 12 miles at the end of my workout.
I usually do 3-4 sets at each machine I use. I really dont use freeweights.
That was Wednesday you saw me because thats the only day I do shrugs.
Ive done less weight but upped it over time. Ive been going to the gym for 3 years now and gradually upped it to a set of 360 (12 reps), then 450 (10 reps) and then a set of 550 (8-10 reps). Since doing that my shoulders have gotten alot bigger than they used to be and all my long sleeved shirts are short at the wrist now.
I really go to the gym to tone up and hopefully lose a few pounds or bulk up some muscle. Ive done a bit of both. When I started going I had no tone at all. Now Im better off and feel a bit stronger at times.
My diet sucks. I eat alot of shit like chips, cookies, etc. Most of the time my lunch is a bag of chips I grab on the run, sometimes with a brick of cheese.
Dinner for the most part is a good meal. Only yogurt for breakfast most of the time.
I realize my diet often contradicts my exercise.
Lately Ive been trying to take a 15-20 mile bike ride on Sundays weather permitting in addition to going to the gym 3 days a week.
On Fridays I usually do one machine for legs, then another machine for something else and then another machine for legs. I try not to do two machines for the same thing in a row.
Might look like random shit but its really my routine.
haha my favorite type of gym people “yeh i normally walk in go right to the mirror and flex a bit. Then i do some curls to work the biceps then move right into the bench press to work my chest. Then i normally flex one last time on my way out then hit the tanning beds”
Kid I used to know used to eat like mcdonalds, and taco bell after every workout. He was huge, with maybe 6% BF. Dunno if he was on sauce, but it was crazy.
