Bring your rain tires.
Bump.
Anyone doing moto track days this year? Appear to be beating a dead horse here…
For those interested, I’ll be at TMP this year and also NYST on the MV.
Did you go out to TMP yet this year?
Not yet, had to replace tires and fork seals on the MV…should make the end of the month.
If anyone needs gear I listed all my stuff (keeping my helmet and one pair of gloves) http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?284631-Motorcycle-Gear-Dainese-Perforated-Suit-Alpinestars-SMX-Plus-Boots-amp-GP-Pro-Gloves&p=4668612#post4668612

Bump…
Tackled TMP yesterday with my MV Agusta. Couldn’t ask for better weather; 75 riders ended up running between all three classes. Had tons of fun (because motorcycles > cars), stoked to try out Mid-Ohio/NYST for some elevation change this season.
A few crappy iPhone pictures:

Awesome CB550 that was running. 70hp/330lbs:
My buddy Dakota:
What tire pressures are you running?
I’ve been running Dunlop Q3’s at 29R/30F cold on the street which is a tad more aggressive over the recommended street pressure…yesterday I dropped them to 26R/27F cold.
The reason I was asking is a lot of people run Q3’s too high at 42R / 36F.
For track we suggest 30R / 32F cold with a target of 34R / 34F hot. This should decrease steering effort and improve steering response compared to the pressure you are running. If you play around with the pressures report back.
Noted! Usually rule of thumb I use is 30/30 cold.
What are you riding? I may head to Mid-Ohio this evening after class to run all day tomorrow.
fixed
Nothing that I can put into writing on the internet.
Ah, in that case feel free to give me a call.
Good stuff
So jealous!! Never ran Dunlops but I think street riding recommended 42R/36F in the manual for my old 636. Pretty sure I was running 28/28 once warmed up on the track. I need to get back on two wheels!!!
Mike, let’s goooooo! I can help find you a moto…just give me the green light/details and boom, I’ll find you something in no time.
