Heh. I may get another sportbike for the track some day. No more sportbikes for the street though, too uncomfortable. Harley for the street, getting old.
I still have all my gear. I guess I just like the idea of the cage of a car more now that I’m older
If the track in Fort Erie ends up with a good road course for bikes, I’ll probably invest in a track bike. Other than that, I don’t see myself getting another sport bike anytime soon.
You guys are so old, boo hooo. @JBGTI I’ll hold you to that one…maybe you should just come with us next time and I’ll let you take my bike out, I bet that’ll spark your interest much more!
Haha, never too old! My grandfather has been racing Porsche’s/Vette’s since 85’ and he still goes out to the Glenn, Mosport, Mid-Ohio, etc. I guess it’s a tad different than cars but still…
@Willybeen should do a track day next time you visit, weather permitting that is.
There was a DRZ kicking ass when we were there. He kept passing this guy on a 600 in the turns then the 600 would pass him in the straights. They were literally going back and forth every session.
^^Yeah that was pretty funny to watch. @JBGTI mine’s available Looking to possibly switch into a track only bike but can’t bring myself to do that to my current 636.
There is one more open-lapping at TMP on the 25th if anyone is interested, it’s the last one of the season. Super tempted to do it, will wait til it gets closer to see how the weather will be.
I ended up selling my beater '97 zx6r track bike at the beginning of the summer and bought a project '98 vtr1000f superhawk for cheap. Problem is I haven’t touched it, so didn’t do any trackdays this summer. Winter project at this point, but I plan to get out a few times next summer. I’m really looking forward to hitting up Kissing Bridge Moto as I’ve heard they are adding many more dates for 2015. So much easier to head over to KB than to do an overnight for a sportbike trackday.
Would anyone be interested in my 07 R6 track bike? Has a TON of new parts with only one track day on them. Will be listing it for sale for $2800. PM if interested, thanks!
ooooooooo i would love to - would need leathers boots gauntlet gloves and all that jazz though. sucks to go spend 1500-2000 on that for one session this year - maybe in spring when i see a whole season ahead of me
