One of my coworkers just got a Pentax K100D. He really likes it. If you can live with 6.1 mp it’s a great deal for the 400 he paid for it online with an ok prime lens. Plus it uses AA batteries which is a big plus IMO.

not really as great as it sounds. I have a battery grip (def. reccomend getting, it increased handheld stability, adds battery life, has sidways shutter, ect) on my XTi that holds two batteries and can also use AA batteries, but the two batteries last for WEEKS and many many many photo’s. I’ll never need AA bateries for it.
AA batteries are cheap. You can buy them anywhere if you forget or lose your batteries or just run out of juice and don’t have a charger with you.

i think an ION battery is much more of an advantage then AA batts
