Reccomend me a CAMERA!!! PAH!!

Ok i need a camera. I need to catalog my sunsets, long walks on the beach etc. So i am looking for something point and shoot because any DSLR is WAAY out of my price range.

I had my eye on the Fugifilm f200 exr

Or perhaps a Nikon coolpix (for which the ratings are very mixed)

or perhaps something else, perhaps something new, something i don’t even know about…

Any advice would be much appreciated.

oh cmon, scoop a cheap used DSLR.

Werd. Used DSLR’s can be had for dirt cheap now.

Problem is lenses.

Canon has some nice cameras right below the DSLR segment which, from what I’ve seen, rock.

cannon.

Through your fucking house!

sony point and shoots are pretty good … how much are you looking to spend

im looking to spend less than 300 dollars.

I have been looking at

  1. Fugifilm F200 exr (also the f70 and F72 i cant figure out the difference)
  2. Cannon powershot S-90
  3. Nikon coolpix S570

Go Canon or Nikon, I say. Never heard of anything good from Fujifilm. Except it’s JDM.

Canon4lyfe!

I know you said less than $300, but Mike is selling a Canon Digital Rebel XS DSLR in the classifieds on here for $400. I’m sure he’ll negotiate. Also comes w/ two lenses, plus I have a lens or two for sale.

I found a Canon SD990 IS this morning for $293 shipped… Erik’s parents ordered it… just do price comparisons and you can find them cheaper…

I’m with Cossey… only ever buy canon or nikon …

Also the canon SD970 IS is a lil cheaper and pretty good camera…

i do agree with you for a dslr … but some of the off brands do make a pretty decent PS …

Cannon PS S5IS is what the wife has. fairly decent camera for the money, which wasn’t that much(maybe $250 on sale)

True. I did have a Sony Cybershot point & shoot back in the day and it worked great, took some great pics w/ it.

I worked at a photolab for 3 years, granted the was till 2006… but Nikon was always my favorite. But most of the “pros” near me use Canon or Nikon for SLRs. Point and shoots are all pretty comparable, just avoid Kodak, Polaroid, and a few others.

Any other suggestions?
