just go back to not posting.
this would have never happened.
What if you put a rocket on a conveyor belt.
no lift = no fly.
no wind passes the wings
who give a fuck how fast the engine is running
or the conveyor moves.
its dumb to think that something that is not moving at all will magically jump into the air.
Its the same effect at tying the plane to a large building and thinking its going to just hover in the air in front of the building
The plane does not have anywhere near enough power.
do you not know how a plane looks/takes off from a runway? The wheels are there b/c they cause less resistance than the fucking body of the plane scraping along the runway.
A) its not venturi effect, its bernoulli’s principle
B) A wing at zero angle of attack does not create enough lift ot make a plane fly
C) The wind hitting the bottem of the plane causes the left, hence wings on planes have a negative angle of attack
D) The jets do not create the air flying over orunder the wing, because this would actually cause down force as most of the jet engines are under the wing, causes acceleration of the air under the wing
E) Thrust is a force that is pusing, not suction, hence the plane essentially push against the air behind it.
F) Wheels are essentially not attached the the mass of the body, they are there on bearings, which are of negligable friction, hence the are in free spin
G)IT WILL TAKE OFF
even though the engines are @ take off speed, the plane isnt moving… (it’s not like a plane can just put the thrust on high and pull up right away… its need to gain speed thru it’s medium [air] aswell)… being that it’s sitting on a belt, esentially not moving, I’d say that it’s a moot point… if you tried to pull up, nothing would happen.
it’s not the engines that make the plane able to fly (well… it IS, but not 100%)… it’s the aerodynamics… what is the rudders going to catch to lift the plane when no air is passing by it?
edit: it “might” pull up a little, but without the speed necessary, I think it’d bog and fall…
If people would have read this, the thread wouldn’t be up to 6 pages by now. Seriously, the plane will take off BECAUSE IT’S MOVING FORWARD.
The question should not ask: Does it take off? because people automatically assume since it’s on a treadmill it won’t move, so no air, no lift, no go. The question should be worded as: Does the plane move forward? Answer that.
it would have great difficulty or ease taking off in a very strong flowing water, because the water can apply a longitudinal force, either opposing the engine or adding to it.
