Well my kart is literally worth more than my actual car (again, not saying much here I know), so I’m more particular with what I do with it… I typically don’t give rides out, especially since I could be liable if someone were to jack up something big- probability of breaking equipment / bones etc lot higher given entry speeds into every corner.
Even if a dude weighed 300+ in a TAG kart vs. a 120 lb’er in a rental it just would not be fair for the rental guy. Over double the hp, and the kart weighs about the same.
The only thing is things happen a LOT faster in a TAG kart. Every corner at CVMP, including the esses, would require some form of lifting and/or braking. Even the left hander back onto the main straight can’t be done flat out without the back end coming loose (with good tires and a well set up kart even).
Let’s say there’s a step between GPNY and the CVMP rentals right?
The difference between a race kart (TAG) and the CVMP rental is probably at least as much of a gap, with the TAG requiring a lot more physical exertion too.
I’ve done laps in a TAG and then switched into a rental kart to take another look at the lines… It was like going from karting outdoors to an indoor facility.
