Liking the CME. I came very close to picking up a couple different SS’s. What kind of HP/times are you shooting for?
just shooting for a mean/good sounding daily…about 400-430rwhp on bolt ons and a cam…and 500 on some funny gas.

wasnt too fond of the white…I wanted dark blue or red but you cant win them all! its hard enough to come by SS’s as it is…yet alone a 6 spd and a SLP (street legal performance) edition one!..so im happy

I may be totally off, but is the SLP package similar to what was offered with the Pontiac WS6 with the Ram Air package?

yah same thing…in 98 SLP joined with GM (chevy and pontiac) on a certain few cars to make performance packages on them as a upgrade by buyers from the factory…these are SLP packages which were a Extra charge (kinda like getting a C6 with different packages)
They came with a factory performance intake, exhaust, Eighbech (sp??) adjustable front and rear shocks, thicker front and rear sway bars, and SLP performance springs…also came with looks packages such as the Rear exhaust valence like my car has, and the SS front grill…they only made a certain number of SLP ss’s a year…every SS has a vehicle number with them that you type into the computer of call GM and they give you all the performance specs on that SS…mine is 1 or 325 white, t top 6 Spd SLP SS’s made in 2001 in the world.
so basically its your average Z28, but built for handling/performance from the factory and rated at 335hp where as the regular SS is rated at 320, and the Z28 at 305.

i believe the first slp ss was actually in 96. My friend has the 96 ss and its one of about 2000 cars, the 96 is one of the really rare ones, but its an automatic lt1 :nono
they out of of jersey gotta call em and talk to them its not the cheapest place but its a lot better than redline in my opinion
from what i hear redline isnt that good either, everyone hypes him up
