well, the only other 240sx that compared to mine was that orange one… and i would have eatin it up… Rota D2’s are a poser give away.
i have some pictures of the show, some super hot stuff and alot of totally wack-balls stuff.
instead of doing an NY Speed rip to Carlisle next year i proposed an open cruise to Beaver Run next year… these are not for the feint of heart however.
one of the hottest cars there was this S12 with a SR set up similar to mine, but the car weighs like 400 lbs less and was using S13 coilovers with custom welded rear strut towers.
view of the show
sick turbo charged, wide body Miata… custom 3 point strut brace with aluminum QA1 rod ends and all kinds of other little goodies i noticed. Ther were alot of nice miatas there
Of course this skyline… anyone have a picture of the sign he had up on the sunday?
Newmy has some competition
I’m thinking of hiring this guy to do the body work on my car
there was alot of absolute garbage there… Chris was schooling people with SR and general 240sx Tech… 90% of middle-americans really have zero-clue.
what that whole event really drove home is how advanced our scene is here on SON.
everyone here seems to complain about all the drama and how no one knows anything, but when you are around people who REALLY dont know anything you begin to realise how it isnt that no one in our community doesnt know anything it is simply that we take all the basics for granted whereas in many other communities they dont even know where to start.
people were under our NYspeed pavillion wondering how we got such a sweet spot… comments over heard were:
“how did these guys get here? no one has any stereo equipment”
“all these cars look stock”
that should give you an idea of what the demographic is for the US tuner scene.
mind you, there were some extremely sharp cars there.
Miatas were very well represented with at least 10 examples of Miatas that i would be happy to own and drive and brag about.
But as mentioned, the 240sx scene was significantly lacking.
pictures cannot describe how amazing this engine looks. You have to see it up close to be able to actually appreciate it. Awesome job Bing and to Chris St. John who was the lead man in this build. Can’t wait to see what numbers this beast pulls.
