Trackmaster studio is owned by rob from the goo-goo dolls. It’s by far the nicest studio I’ve ever been in. They have almost 500,000 dollars worth of microphones alone. The have the amp collection that was originally at the Beatle’s abbey road studio.
It was insane, I wish i had more pictures of everything there. Tons of hardwood, expensive rugs, tons and tons of gear… just top notch everything. I was really impressed.
In this video we were just working out the quintuplet fill at the very end of the chorus. Quintuplets are really weird. I’ve never actually recorded to a click track before, but it was pretty easy.
Our Myspace songs really suck, so here’s a link to 3 “live” songs we recorded for pre-production at someone’s house on hertel. Obviously there are a lot of mistakes… but just to give you an idea of our “sound”. Again, these are NOT from trackmaster.
At first I was SUPER nervous. Mostly because I’d never recorded to a click track before, and at our practice space, the results were MEH at best… but it turned out that I was pretty good at playing on the click, I just couldn’t hear it at practice.
I’m also not a super sweet drummer, so i was worried that the engineer would think i was lame, but he seemed to dig it. Some people think i am good, but i have NO self confidence about my drumming.
