Pirates 05

the team will always suck unless they have more revenue to get players, more revenue means more people in the seats. stop complaining about it and do something. Come out and see a game or two on a nice night. We also have 11 weekday afternoon games during the season and usually offer a business person’s special(check out the website for details). Here’s a good excuse for those who work in town to get out and have a beer on a work day. Here’s our promotional schedule for this season.

Fan-favorite Bobbleheads will return to PNC Park with a collectible series that includes a Jason Bay “NL Rookie of the Year” Bobblehead (April 15), an Oliver Perez Bobblehead (May 21) and the Pirates first “dual” bobblehead, a Steve Blass/Manny Sanguillen Bobblehead (June 8). Postgame fireworks shows are planned for every month of the regular season from April through September. “Skyblast”, which traditionally sells-out, lights up the skies on August 5. I’ll try to make it out there as much as i can. nothin like $9 bleacher seats

no offense to anyone but $9 seats to that game is a rip off the way that they have been playing. i think we would of been better of keeping them in the old stadium and having our 4 police officers per 1 square mile

the pirate stadium was a waste of money. we built a stadium for a team that has not filled what was their current facilities in years. we should of kept the old stadium for them and if they had a problem with that we should of just let them go that would of been more money to put toward a bigger steeler stadium. also we would not of had to cut our police force in half going from 4 officers per square mile to 2 officers per square mile. not only was the new stadium a waste of money but it put all the citizen of pittsburgh in greater danger. we went from one of the top ten cities to live in safty wise to one of the worst. yea its nice to go to a game everynow and then but personally i feel all seets should be general admission of 9 dollars until they start winning and actually give the spectators something to watch instead of how drunk their buddy is.

hey asshole, this isn’t up for debate!!! take you noob ass and look at the forum this is under. Incase you didn’t know they employ me. The stadium was not a waste of money. 81 games , in what was voted the number one park in america, does bring money into this city. you have it completly backwards. 3rivers was a football stadium from day one. it was perfect for the steelers. heinz field is nothing more than a new milenium cookie cutter. It was the steelers decision on the size of the stadium. they could have easily put more seats but they chose not to so they can keep the demand high. you are a perfect example of why the pirates can get ahead. your attitude sucks. For ur information last year, even with horrible weather the pirates turned a profit which is a big accomplishment in the unbalenced world of MLB. Until you know what the fuck you are talking about i suggest you shut the fuck up because any knocks on the pirates and you are fuckin with my wallet… when the mods read this please delete his post and this post.

so you would rather see the new milenium of baseball fields in pittsburgh then safty and security of many other peoples jobs such as fire fighters and half the pittsburgh police department. maybe if the pirates didnt have so many seats demand to see them would go up as well and they could actually get something for the tickets instead of giving them away for 9 dollars. to sit there and run your mouth calling me this and that for my opinion is pretty mature and i apriciate all the compliments. for your information you had a job before the new stadium was built and so did i. however when the stadium was complete one of us (me) no longer had a place to work cause the stadiums put pittsburgh into a major budge cut. this forced them to cut police officer jobs and thats where i lost out. as for calling me a noob well sorry i havent known of this site as long as you do. also sorry i have to do things other then sit online looking at the site all day i come on and look around when i can im not going to post on every subject possible. this pirate steeler thing is something that effected me and screwed me out of a job. so until you are hurt in that way dont tell me what i should and should not post where its important people relise that those stadiums where not necissary for the city and it did jeperdize their health and well being. woohoo we have one of the greatest baseball stadiums in the country but at what price the cost of what was one of the top ten police departments real good move keep up the good work pittsburgh

you have no solid proof to link the two. for your info, places like hightops stay in business no because of the steelers but the pirates season. The builidng of the new stadium created my job. There are way too many firefighters in pgh to begin with. ask them all how their cars are running or how their workouts are because thats what they are doing all day. crime hasn’t taken over the city so it seems like the police are doing a decent job. Don’t blame losing your job on the pirates stadium, thats a pathetic excuse to feel sorry for urself.

Also the 9 dollar seats are only about 12% of the seating in the park.

Move to e-fighting… :drama:

no just delete this shit becuase it was a classified thread not open for his opinion on whether a stadium was needed or not. he can can delete it himself or i can have a mod delete it.

have you been able to pick up a paper in the last couple weeks. due to the lacking money in pittsburgh it has become a hot bed for graffity artists the pittsburgh police are unable to do anything about this because of the rapid growing number of new arrists coming in to trash our town. not to mention the theft that happens because these people need money to buy there paints tools bribes. yea believe it or not people steal everydaynewflash for you maybe and as for blaming the useless stadiums on me lossing my job im not saying its the only factor but im saying its a main one they put the city in debt and the city had to do something. also you will not be yelling there are way to many fire fighters when your house or your buddies house maybe your moms house burns down you will be asking where were they why couldnt they get here faster. and not to be a “asshole” but i would tell you look at the stadiums that is where the people went that would otherwise of been able to save your house my house anyones house. saying i dont know my facts sorry buddy i do. also i dont appricaite being called an asshole i preffer well informed thanks

im up for e fighting i will throw everything there in your lap for you delete my threads and move it there im game let everyone know whats really going on

preach on

graffiti is a major problem BUT thats a really poor example.

this “useless” stadium has generated a lot of revenue for this city and come next year will once again put pittsburgh in the spotlight for the 2006 all star game. without PNC we don’t get the allstar game next year. I’m sure revenue off the new venue has exceeeded its cost by now.

i’m good for about 5 games a year and at least 4 of those will be bleacher seats. thats not really the pirates fault though, tix in general are just more than i’m willing to pay. i mean, 10 dollar parking, 6 dollar beers, a 4 dollar hotdog. f that.

as far as the pirates go, i was excited into july. usually i quit watching by june. so that’s an improvement. we’ve go some good players, they’re resigning guys… all steps forward. i just wish mcclatchy would stfu about him losing money. fuck, we all know the books are cooked you’re not losing shit mf. so sign some pitching, bring up some minor leaguers, one or two more 300 hitters, and keep making moves like perez and bay and i’ll come to more games in a heartbeat cause they’ll be competing n the division play up until september.

dude i will own you on this topic, look at the growth in northside around the stadiums. 20 some events at heinz field in the winter is not why this is happening. its because of PNC is a place people wanna come and see in the warm summer months.

yea exceeded its cost and thats why the city is still in debt and the police force is still cut in half. umm yea. we are making a killing off a multi million dollar brick that isnt even used all year round. how about this couple weeks ago i was walking around the city on the north side and there is a dead guy laying in the middle of a parking lot unattended to being a cop i go to see if he really is dead call 911 and let them know whats going on where were the cops. oo thats right there money went to buy 5 bricks for the stadium. as for the stadiums being paid well are you in highschool or something. 3 rivers we still owe on and its been 30 years 30 years is a long time to not have a stadium paid off. tell you what give me your adress and ill buy you a subscription to the new paper and maybe even get you cable so you can learn a thing or too

From Graffiti and other small crimes spawns bigger crime. Reduciing graffiti and other small crime such as toll evasion on the subway is how Mayor Giolotti (sp?) improved New York City years back.

well he came out and said this past season we turned a profit. I work here and i get all kinda of numbers from aroung the MLB. the pirates weren’t making money on baseball in years past. The pirates got bad deals with alco parking and aramark food services. they can’t be completely at fault for prices other than tickets.

:bsflag:

you hate the pirates and baseball, just say it. i’m right and you’re not willing to admit it.
