basically a guy gav me a call and offered me 4 koni struts (adjustable) which are 900$ shipped New, 2 of them need rebuild 2 of them dont but im gonna go ahead and rebuild all of them, hes also throwing in mopar high rate and x high rate springs which arent made anymore and he claims they have no miles (im driving out there this weekend to verify part number and such)
hes throwing me a rear sway bar, 55mm TB and ported intake for my other car, and a BRAND New Diff with a pin saver and tabs and retrofitted LSD
all of this for my turbo (700 new) which i was selling for 450 on here
he claims he can have them all rebuilt for 400$ (re-valved), can anyone beat this price?
I’d find out what kind of konis they are. Ones for 900 retail aren’t super common, but the race konis are up there, and double adjustable are even more. As for the mopar high rate spings that “arent made anymore”, those aren’t a big deal because there are plenty of companies that will make you custom spings for you cheap (ground control). The diff, if you can use it may make this very worth it for you though.
Oh and to have your konis revalved, yeah it’ll be somewhere in that ballpark.
TrueChoice or Koni USA should be able to rebuild. I’ve heard costs are around $100 a strut. Ask about getting them degassed and revalved. They might know of “Mark Daddio” spec - he won a LOT at the national level in autocross with a set of custom Konis.
The guy’s name doesn’t happen to be Terry, does it?
Call Koni and ask for the race tech, Gordon. Awesome guy, he will point you in the right direction. He helped me a ton when specing out my setup. I must have 40 emails from him, easy.
Non-Rebuildable: Certain KONI shocks, due to their unique configuration, are sealed for life. Shocks which are not readily rebuildable include series: 25,26,28,30,76 and 8641.
Nah, I just figured I knew where the parts were coming from. The manifold and TB might have been from neonglh’s car though. Terry bought lots of parts from him.
Sounds like a decent deal. As long as they’re Koni yellows, they’re rebuildable. Do what juicedz4 said and talk to that guy. He’ll probably know the Daddio tricks.
ill make sure the struts are the ones i need and the springs have the part number, for the trades any ways, he said that its night and day with the ported manifold and TB, hopefully hes right, my DD is slow as hell to drive but the stereos fuckin bumpInNNNNNNNNNN
