cool about the sound!
to me, it seems that the xbox is a game console with the ability to play movies and the ps3 was made to be a game console and home theatre… which is cool!!! but it makes me wonder why exactly the ps3 doesn’t up-convert dvd’s… isn’t that kinda stupid? you’d think with all the advancements with media and HD that they would include their baller hdmi upscaling dvd technologies (their sony upscaling dvd player is one of the best in the market IMO, i own it and love it), yet the ps3 continues to play movies in native resolutions (the cio or ceo said that it was a manufactoring decision to make sure they hit their marks for the release)… weird.
that microsoft article just says that it doesn’t intend on making the hd player play games, it doesn’t quite say that it’s incapable… just that it’s not designed to play games…naturally they are going to try to keep the impression that their current gaming drive is fully functional!
in that other ps3 thread i posted the guy from the UK that put all mediums on the same disk… dvd layering is the future of games and movies… i believe that having one disk that does it all will be a reality…
