 at the wannabe ballers crying about fuel. Clearly you don’t understand the finances behind buying a half million dollar toy.
Even if you spend $1000 in gas a week and run it for half the year (more than anyone runs these boats) you’re talking less than 6% of the initial cost of the boat in fuel.
I’m in no position to buy a half million dollar toy, or the gas to run it either, but at least I can understand that gas costs would be the least of my concerns at that point.
He wants to go fast, but for the best price, meaning if 1000 dollars a month gets us 8 hours or more water time, he will do it. These are expensive toys and yes fuel cost is insane.
My dads old Cigarette 46 Rider XP, was around 500 for the day in fuel. Thats only the day. He also had a Rough Rider Cigarette which was also insane, back in 1994 I remember 1 day costing 700 dollars to fill it.
At least its not in the water all year round so that saves on fuel cost.
Ive only gone about 60-70mph on the water, and its fast enough to make you scared to sit in a seat without being buckled in. I could not imagine going move than 200 mph.
Fastest I’ve been on the water is right around 100-120, not sure exactly, was in a 40 something foot Fountain Deep-V; that was one of the craziest things I think I’ve been involved in; even in suspension seats you were just getting POUNDED by the boat jumping waves.
My dad friends boat back in the day had 2 454’s side by side with 2, 10:71 blowers sticking out of the back bonet. When you had it at full throttle it was so loud you had to wear ear protection. It was awsome.
