For anyone who cares, what is your opinion of Bush’s nomination of Alito to the Supreme Court?
I haven’t read a lot yet, but from the opinions he’s written that I have read, he seems like a fair-minded conservative… I think he places the emphasis on precedent over his personal beliefs when there is a precedent set.

yes and no.
i think scalia’s decisions are more influenced by his personal opinions than alito’s are. i think they have very similar beliefs, but alito is less of an “activist judge”.
who cares, both parties place effort and belief in shit no one cares about. like it affects my life one iota if abortion is repealed or gays can marry. fuck it
there isnt a single person on the face of the planet that Bush could nominate that I wouldnt hate. The very fact that Bush picked them would make me immediately stop trusting them.
