Red Hat Red Hat Red Hat
Not that it’s the worst thing in the world, but I would never intentionally want to work for a company forcing me to implement any unsupported OS.
Red Hat FTW (at work)
Really, I don’t buy that for a second. I see 90% use of centOS and BSD than RH on a daily basis, I can’t even remember the last time I saw RH. (That is of course not enterprise level, but then again I’ve never seen an enterprise level using Linux as it’s main distro).
My favorite distro can beat up your favorite distro!
I wonder if they lumped CentOS with RHEL
It’s listed separately on the first graph.
Woops I can’t read
Ya most higher end applications for enterprise we have seen use RHEL. You need to pay out your ass for their support tho.
CentOS is pretty stellar IMO. All my servers run it.
I thought CentOS is just a rip of RHEL with out support
Thats what they say but there is some subtle differences. I know a lot of apps and drivers work on both but some people have had some issues getting certain applications to accept the different OS.
cent os is re-compiled rhel
if you’re a small shop, go with centos. if you are gonna run a large site though, you’d be crazy to go unsupported.
