Post pics of your snow removal warrior

in all seriousness you would probably have better luck with a leaf blower.lol

mywife

I was given an old Ford snowblower last year. Carb leaks and the drive belt slips. Until I fix it it’s easier to shovel.

Somewhere on here are pictures of my Polaris Ranger with the plow that I posted years ago.:gotme:
In some ways it is better than a truck because it is not 23 feet long and has a small turning radius.
I didn’t even put the blower on my John Deere this year because all it does it get stuck or break. POS.

I think most people on here use the “hickory highlift” if anything. lol

Found a pic of the beast…

Showoff…
:walter:

Can you elaborate on this? Model tractor? Which blower? Whats causing it to get stuck or break? I don’t want to drop $1500 on the attachment if its garbage.

That pic is funny.

Do people mod tractors?
Is there a John Deere forum?
Is Dan B on it?

no pic but I have a '06 brute force with a 48" plow

There HAS to be a john deere forum out there, maybe not specifically for lawn tractors but there are forums for everything it seems. As for modified tractors…

It is a 20 year old 285 model that breaks every other time I use it. A new one might be better.
As far as getting stuck, my driveway drops off about 6" on either side and that is enough to leave the tractor stranded. When I spin the tires the chains fall off even though I have tried to double the number of bungees and even use wire. lol
If you have a nice straight, little, yuppie, driveway it might work fine but I think the job at my property is just too big. lol

Such an odd subject to HDR… but for some reason, I really like that image.

This is what my dad’s Cat tractor looks like. Nothing too crazy 40hp diesel, hydromatic, I think it has 3 pto’s, 4x4, power steering. He has the front bucket loader, rear straight blade, box scraper, weight box, and a brush hog. Thing kicks total ass, he has a car trailer for it, weighs about 3000lbs I’d guess. All metal construction. He had a back hoe for it but sold it.

Turbo shouldn’t you put a snow blade on the front loader, must take forever to plow a lot with that thing.

Oh we also have my 1998 King Quad with a 48" blade, and a bunch of shovels.

Looks like this, but with a plow on for winter.

Here in Houston I have one of these still.

My brother has an older John Deere with snowblower attachment (not sure which model) and it sucks balls! Anything more than 3 inches and its useless, he’s given up on it and uses a normal walk-behind instead. My Toro cuts through everything in its path, even doormats… which was buried under the snow once and I ran it over and chopped it up.

^Single stage?
I guess the new JDs are 2 stage which should be much better.

I don’t think power will be an issue. My X300R lawn tractor has a rock solid 17 hp Kawasaki V-twin (good ole american built deere with a jap motor…go figure). My walk behind works flawlessly, even when buried, with only 5.5 hp. I am more worried about the blower attachment being mechanically sound.

The blower attachment for my model tractor is 2 stage.

I have the the Kawa 18hp liquid twin and it has plenty of power, especially after the rebuild.:bloated:

I have videos lol…made them more as a comparison of old and new camera video thing but lots have viewed and enjoyed:

BigEd = Tim Allen?

Single stage yes. Though I think its the design, not a power issue. His Deere has a 16hp B&S twin, my Toro is a single stage with a 16hp twin also and it goes through everything.

2 stage should make it work much better.
