Beautiful interior. All thatis left is that shift knob and you are good. At least you have the easiest and cheapest thing left.

Also, I have a serious case of FD envy here. The first pic I only saw an FD, and then realized there was an Evo, Porsche, and a Miata. The next pic I just saw an FD again and realized it was about the Miata after I decided to move on after gawking. The Miata is beautiful for sure. But damn, lI want that FD. I wish I had the money to support an FD, sex on wheels.

I have several friends that own or have owned FD’s. One of them, Chris, has owned his FD for the past 8 years. Every year, he’s modded it more and more. He had the motor rebuilt in 2004 and it’s still going strong. I have another friend who bought an FD in 2006. When he bought it, we all factored in a rebuild in his original purchase price as he was very on the fence about it. It was a great deal and was priced like an FD with a blown motor or on the way out motor was. To my amazement, after a tune up, plugs and coolant etc…the car ran fine and to this day is running a PFC with a T4 etc…

Whereas, I’ve blown two 13BT’s in one summer. Both were STOCK with minor boltons, DP, full exhaust, that’s all. (mind you, both were JDM specials off the floor.) I think it’s a crap shoot. When it comes to rotaries, all it takes is proper maintenance if you have a healthy motor.

I’m pretty sure that if you were to give me any rotary that was freshly OEM rebuilt, it wold last me 200,000km with just regular maintenance. They have to be treated like bikes I guess. Really really dependant on proper and didlgent maintenance but if given that, they treat you like a queen!

Think about about it, if you can afford to keep your S14/RB25 on the road, you can afford an FD. How much have you spent on the car this season alone??? Just fixing and maintaining? Not even modding. The same for any rotary I bet. Just CHANGE your OIL every 3000km with good oil. Run some premix every few tanks of gas, coolant flush EVERY year, let it warm up before hoofing on it and for gods sake don’t let it overheat.

If that’s what you want! DO IT! It will cost you the same overall. And if for some reason, it blows…some of the nicest cars in Noth America RIGHT NOW are FD/LSX’s. With no doubt about it.

PErfect handling, perfect looks with a perfect power plant that runs 400WHP out of the box with minor bolt ons.

For me, if I had all the money in the world, I’d STILL pick an FC over and FD. I wish I could restore an FC to factory condition and build a monster car with a monster budget. I would enjoy that more than an FD. I’m old school at heart. I’d take a well built AE over a MK4 supra anyday. I’m fucked like that.

Andrew, your car is one of the nicest examples (cosmetically) of an S Chassis that I have ever physically laid eyes on. If you had “fitment” it would probably BE THE NICEST I WOULD HAVE EVER SEEN!

i love your car and that car honestly looks like it was made in 2004 or something.

Thanks for the very kind words ronnie! “Fitment” is still in the works. I’m thinking coilovers with 10mm spacer in front, 5mm in back and a nice little roll over the summer. Then it’s time to start saving and researching power options.
I’m also considering undertaking the digital climate control conversion…though it seems quite daunting.
PS: You don’t still have those black leather S13 door panels do you??

Speaking of fitment, I do NOT have it, yet lol

trutrax:
Keep your XXR wheels as spares, get REAL baller wheels since you have a BALLER car,
do the climate control, ted aka heatw will do the wiring and set it up for you in a couple hours for CHEAP

I’ve always wanted an FD, but cant afford these 20k pricetags
If anyone knows of a blown motor FD or rolling chassis, hollllllla

can I jump on the roofrack bandwagon

buy an fd from the states, rolling chassis are 5 or 6k all day

Ronnie, I have spent little on maintenance. 180 on oil and filters, and that’s it. The rest has been spent on fixing my mistakes, and more recently, Riyad’s/Riworx. For example, my centre console wiring was a disaster. I took a crack at it and Chris went to town and everything was re-wired PROPERLY… It was a disaster. Fuel gauge still needs to be diagnosed, my trunk light inesxs some sorting, and then the dash wiring needs some cleaning up like the centre console wiring got. Yes it’s not neccessarily cheap, but I wouldn’t say FD expensive.

S-Chasis’ are hacked to shit, where as FD’s tend to be done right if they are running well because they are far more unforgiving. I still love my S14.

besides it isn’t worth it to me to get rid of it. I have most of my shit done. Front suspension, brakes, subframe, rb, clean interior and underbody, painted engine bay, 70% of my lights are LED converted, one of the cleanest interiors around, I don’t even remember my mods anymore. I just need a few things like paint for example. I don’t need many more mods to finish my car.

Dude. You’re rocking massive OVERFENDERS with 5 inch wheels? lolz. Love it!

nice rad fluidd
and amazing chance to get those pictures hahaha nice
your camera skillz are picking up
lets do a photoshoot ronnie… i’ll drop my car and tuck just for that occasion

just finishin up the dubssss should be on soontime.

With the money you’ve spent on your S14, including purchase price and swap and at least another $2500 for a decent paint job, I’m 100% certain you could have bought a roller from the US and built a brand spanking new motor that would be bulletproof.

-FD Roller or Unknown Motor Status - $5-7500 USD depending on condition and chassis mods.
-Full OEM rebuild or race rebuild - $2500-6500 CDN

You now have a FD with a NEW motor that will last as long as you maintain it that only requires gas and regular oil changes.

Yanno? It can even be done cheaper than that. Roller for 5K, JDm front clip for another 2K…you’re taking a chance but it’s still an FD on a budget…either way, WAY less than what you have (and will have) into your car. right"?

Thanks dude. I am available for shoots, just text me or call me for details. The night time stuff is lot more labour intensive and takes literally 10 times as long as a daylight shoot. I actually feel like I’ve plateaued. Recently, the stuff I’ve been shooting to pay the bills is kinda sucking all creativity out of me. I spend all day shooting boring stuff that I don’t have the drive to get creative nearly as much as I used to.

Night time stuff IS way more fun though. seriously harder work though.

Some stuff we could do.

jizzinpantsfacewhat?

That is one very very pretty looking Miata. I like it a lot. Sex.

Massive overfenders lol, and 5 inch for sure.

Rolling FD’s in good condition aren’t just readily available. If you import it here you will pay some hefty taxes because of their value. OEM rebuild is 3K if you do it yourself. Toss on a few K if someone else does it. Race builds require even better seals, porting, etc. Definitely bumps the price up again a few K. Then the price of swapping if it isn’t a DIY. Then that doesn’t even cover the supporting mods and tuning that comes with it. PPM delete, TT delete or silicone hoses, upgraded manifold because the stock one retains too much heat, cooling, full stand alone enginemanagement, injectors, all of the necessary gauges, , all of the other plethora of maintenance issues that addresses Mazda’s engineering short comings. That isn’t even addressing things like suspension, bushings, etc. Then a higher performance brake system that doesn’t retain so much heat as well as all of the lines.

With all of that said and done you are looking at 25K. Premix on every fill up, full warm ups, tunes for every change, more frequent oil changes, poorer fuel economy, rebuilds every 60K, and then you still need a few thousand just in case. FD’s are terrible daily cars. If you aren’t making around 60K with a daily car, forget it.

That’s why proper FD’s still sell around 20K just like they have been for the last 7 years. Not cheap.

Mang, inflated pricing there man. Eff premix on every fillup. Full warm up is good! 3k oil changes. gas mileage is smae same as RB25. meh. If you’re rebuilding at 60K you’re doing it WRONG.

VERY WRONG indeed…
Most people just don’t have a great understanding of rotaries. Most people think they are just plain unreliable. This is untrue. They’ve received this attitude because the general owner treats as they would a piston engine. Thus, killing it. And giving it a bad name.
I have seen a fully build 13b last all of 20 minutes. As well as a stock 13b-REW last 200,000kms WITHOUT a rebuild.
It’s all in the owners mentality, treatment, and maintenance of the car that ultimately decides whether it grenades in 60k or lasts 200k…

P.S.
A full OEM rebuild shouldn’t be costing $6,000… There was a shop local to me that did FULL OEM rebuilds for $2500 - $3000… just sayin… lol
God I’d love to own an FD with a fully built 13bREW or fully built NA 20b…

Nab man, gotta disagree. A tank of 94 is 60 ish for me. A tank of 91 was costing sonfc in the $80’s I believe and he was getting 350 or so a tank. I have done 460 a tank without my fuel gauge. Pretty sure I could get over 500 a tank.

Meh, I’ve actually owned 2 T2’s. Stockish. I have friends with FD’s and am going by my own and their experiences.

Anyways. FD’s are pretty.

Meh. I’ve owned 2 T2’s, stockish and have friends with FD’s in different states of tune. Basing my shit on their and my own experience.

Anyways, fd are pretty, fc are sexy and fc verts are apparently very useful for cargo hauling. Harhar.
