Post your cell phone speeds.

Lets see who has the biggest. :nerd:

Phone: Nokia e71x
Carrier: AT&T
Location: Tonawanda

First test, “tethered” to my laptop via Joikuspot. (Program that turns my phone into a wifi hotspot so I’m going laptop->wifi->phone->cellular)

OK figure out a way to test yours, then post it!

I just did the speedtest.net iphone app and it gave me:

server = rochester, ny
down = 0.39 Mbps
up = 0.05 Mbps
ping = 2548 ms

server = new york, ny
down = 0.65 Mbps
up = 0.12 Mbps
ping = 4758 ms

Phone: Motorola Droid
Carrier: Verizon
Location: Kaisertown

Server: Hamilton, ONT

Download: 2.14 Mbps
Upload: .77 Mbps
Ping: 164 Ms

Was this just going to speedtest.net on your phone?

yeah through the speedtest app

Oh there’s a speedtest app for android?

i went to mobilespeedtest.com

i have to say, i dont trust it. tried it a couple of times, latest put me at 3252.033 kbps :roll:

first one put me at 5XX kbps, which is believable.

edit: lol did it again with the 3mb file test, 6030.151 this time!!

yes there is

I got 201k on mobilespeedtest.com, then 550k, then 254k, then 412k, then 555k.

I’ll take it. Even though that upload looks a little :tif: Samsung Jack, performed on the phone thru Skyfire, AT&T 3G, 3/5 bars in Snyder.

EDIT: Generally the bigger the file the more reliable the result. I like testmy.net because it adjusts the file size to provide a more credible answer.

just got 776 on toast.net using the f-16 pic on the 1&1 server

i tried mobilespeedtest.com and on the 5mb test hit 3770.028 kbps…did like 4 different tests and all were close.

edit:

Phone: MyTouch
Carrier: T-Mobile
Location: Tonawanda

double edit:

Speedtest.net app, iPhone, sitting in strong 3g coverage in Amherst.

And Fry, you really should run the test from the phone. I’ve noticed my speedtests are always a bit faster when I run them through a PC that is tethered to my phone.

No can do. There’s no app for me.

mine were run via the web browser

I forgot you have a lame phone. :rx3:

lol

Fry you n00b, you don’t need a silly ‘app’ like these other losers since your phone can use flash right in your web browser.

If the main page of ‘speedtest’ doesn’t work, use this: http://www.speedtest.net/mini.php

Works for me, but I closed out before it completed since my connection is stupid slow anyway… stupid slow, but stupid cheap :wink:
