ugh just noticed in the picture you can see my “repainted, color matched” door handle the dealer did for me after the stock paint started peeling…

Thursday I got my Stage 3+ head back from GMS Racing Engines (Stage 3+ porting & polishing, competition valve job, 60# valve springs, titanium lifters, etc), along with my 12mm ARP Headstuds, gaskets, etc.
This should be in on monday or tuesday along with my new downpipe

Between the springs and factory paint peeling on a car that new, it seems like GM really screwed the pooch on your car. Do GTOs have a reputation for being like that in general, or did you just have bad luck on a couple items?
Well, there was an issue with some, with the door handles, something about the plastic handles not being primed correctly at the factory? not sure
Suspension is pretty bad on most, due to the bright person who thought strapping the car down HARD by its suspension for the boat ride, leaving it fully compressed for the trip over the ocean from Australia was a good idea.
2 major issues with mine are the front strut mounts are blown, and the rear springs are sagging, other then that, its not too bad.

Used 3" Side exit. Has a cat so i dont have to worry about swaping it in and out for inspection. Jeffs putting it on for me tomorow.
I’m guessing 3" makes up for deleting the original dual setup?
