My xdm 40 has proven perfectly reliable as well, never a single FTF or FTE at all. Flawless, even through breakin.
I cant say that about any of my others. (not since day one atleast)
For target… what ever is on sale. I’ve put steel, aluminum and brass case through it. Along with several mags of god only knows what brand out of a coffee can that a buddy picked up at a gun show. (had to use about twice as many patches to clean it after that one though :lol:) I bought 1000 rounds of Remington UMC when gander had the 500 packs on sale for $86.60 after tax and free shipping. Also fired a lot of winchester brass case FMJ in the 100 round boxes at walmart.
For defense, Winchester PDX1 bonded. I’ve fired enough of that to know the gun likes it and get a feel for the hotter load than my target stuff, but practicing with it would cost a fortune.
Hoping to get to the range with my 380 lcp this week since I swapped out the stock 9lb recoil spring for the 13lb Wolff spring. Everything I’ve read says Ruger should have gone with a 13lb spring from the factory and it will shoot 100x better, but they were afraid weak hands wouldn’t be able to chamber a round.
The hands down best HP pistol ammo out right now is Fed HST. It was kept away from the civ market for a year or two but finally made it. Lots n Lots of departments are switching to it.
It is down right nasty when it opens up.
It does not just turn into a mushroomed ball it keeps a star shaped large cutting edge.
the Hydrashocks dont feed well in my CCW gun though… unfortunately.

A broomhandle isn’t a luger, two completely different weapons. Yours appears to be a Mauser made “red 9” M1916. These were made under contract for the Imperial German Army during WWI to supplement the standard P08 (the luger). Very nice piece! If you ever want to part with it, let me know.
hst is not hydrashock. Two completely diff types of projectiles.

:facepalm: I really need to re read before I post. I was looking at a luger on NYfirearms and posting here. Yes Mauser, The red 9 was put there so that they wouldn’t put the wrong ammo in. All the numbers are matching to. Its crazy how the germans stamp every part of the weapon.
Oh yes they do! Every part of my K98k and Luger down to the screws are stamped with either the full serial number or the last 2 digits. All the larger parts have 2 or 3 waffenamt inspectors marks. Both are very early war though, i imagine things became less tedious once the shit hit the fan.
Its not very light either. If I pistol whipped a zombie with it I would be set. Or I could nail boards back up with it. At least all the numbers match.
It is 100% nasty.
Just picked up a Howa Axiom .308. Put on my bi-pod and a Nikon coyote scope 4.5-14.5x40.
