Tried a new color. Shocker Yellow candy over Chrome. Its a nutty color, definate attention getter color.
BTW the wheels are for sale. This was a set of ASA Ar1 17X8 5X114.3 ET35’s kicking around for ever so I tossed the powder on to try it out. Finish is so so, a little dust in one wheel, a bit splotchy on the center of another… not my best work but it was an expierement. Would make a great set of wheels for a drift car. Asking $300 for the wheels, or $350 if you bring me tires I will mount them.
Not even close. Looks like a really nice gunmetal color though :banghead
So I took some Mirror Black, Mirror Blue, and some of this midnight blue sparkle (10:2:2) and shot a bottle… BINGO I think. But its hard to capture on a camera at 10:00pm in the office… gotta get outside for a good idea of the color.
Top left Candy blue over the midnight blue sparkle. (dont mind the tape markes, I left it in too long and it melted into the powder opps) The candy over the midngiht is actually a damn nice blue color. Bottom right just midnight blue sparkle and right bottle is the custom color.
Wheels got dropped off this morning and I just got the call that they are done which is a real shocker for me. If the color looks good for the customer, ill shoot these in a night or two.
I have a rack of bike parts half done in Mirror black and Sunblaze orange for the customer I coated the frame and swing arm in Sunblaze orange a while back. Still waiting on the rims from the blaster then they will be all done. Pics coming soon.
Any interest in doing a hard tail mountain bike frame? Color isn’t super important- whatever color you have the most material for. That blue/grey metallic is pretty cool.
Frame is stripped of components but still has factory paint/decals on it.
Let me know. I could leave it at Wayne’s sometime or drop it off to you on a weekend.
I have some TPI valve covers, 3 piece intake manifold, accessory brackets and tensioners and some other parts to do in Illusion Purple and gloss black. and some Volvo wheels to do in bronze. coming up soon.
i’m got pretty much an entire suspension off the 79 for you. I may get a blaster and end up doing some prep work of my own to save a buck but either way you’ll be seeing a lot fo my 79 soon
sounds good. I gotta warn ya, blasting it isnt easy. If you dont have 25+CFM behind the blaster, be it a pressure pot or good large nozzle siphon setup… it takes along time. The pressure pot setup I have and my compressor is bottom of the road when it comes to blasting. A rear trailing arm off a civic takes me about 45 mins with my pot blaster, and the siphon one wouldn’t touch it. The guy I sub stuff out to could blast a pile of suspension parts for around $100-200 i would bet. Snap a pic of the pile you have and ill get an est for ya.
winter wheels for the bagged A4. Silver base and orange star burst top coat. Ran out of power on the center caps, so they are a touch light in spots. Also the caps are plastic so they dont take power as well magneticlly as metal.
