hey, i have a 1993 hatch, and the power mirrors dont work…well when i try using the switches in the middle console, they dont move…could it be that the switch isnt hooked up properly? i bought the car like this…just wondering if this is a common problem in s13 240sxs for the power mirrors to break down…i checked things like the fusebox to see if ther ewas anything for it, like the electricals, interior n such, all of them are fine…
i searched “power mirrors” but got all sale threads lol…
the last owner probably spliced up your power mirror harness, maybe take out the center console and check. i know with my previous car, that was the issue.
very easy to fix.
find a wireing diagram for cars power mirrors sys, find which is the hot wire and which are the control wires test the hot wire if it has power when the car is on use it to power one of the control wires if the mirror moves its the switch if it doesnt its the mirror motor i find it hard to believe that both of the mirror motors are blown tho. its most likely the switch or there is no power to the switch
I would take out the multi meter and check for power at the control switch.
before you take anything apart, try to move the mirror with your fingers, it might be all siezed up.
Do this lightly as to not break the glass. then you won’t have a good working 240 for 7 years.
ahahah I must already broken a mirror in that case… Mine doesnt work either but thats cuz i forgot to clip the connector in when i put the interior back in. Pop off the middle consol, the shifter boot part just pops off and the rest is a few screws. check if the connector is plugged in. If its not connect it, if its not even there the previous owner must have taken out the carpet and forgot it under the carpet when he put it back in which case you would have to remove the carpet. If none of that works… just think of them as manual mirrors
