Hey all. So my driver’s side window wouldn’t go up today. I was all like wtf, and I needed it up because the car is left outside and all that so yeah. I realized it would go up, like a half centimeter at a time, and then I could wait 3 seconds and hit the button again and it would go another half centimeter. Then of course when I was almost 90 percent of the way up, i accidentally hit the down (and it’s an auto down) so the whole thing went back to the bottom. Slowly the process started again, and when I got to around 50% it just started working again and went up without a hitch.
Could this be an issue with the motor, or does it sound like something in the amp? I read the S14 PW amp issue guide thing on 240sxtech, would that apply to the S13 as well? Oh and then I managed to break the trim piece. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Matt
If it works good now, don’t sweat it…
It will be the amp if you try and put the window up \ down and you hear a CLICKing noise… to test the motor, take a booster pack, small wire connected to the POS and a small wire to the NEG. and insert each wire into 1 of the 2 connectors to the window motor (if u switch the pos and neg wires, it will either go UP or DOWN, by switching em around)
do that before u buy the motor, i didn’t out 140$
Thanks for the advice. I’m really not sure if it works… once I got the window up I haven’t touched it (especially with temperatures dropping again I don’t need a window stuck open on a parked car).
have you ever had your window(s) coming from the down position to the top struggling, like mine when i try to close the window it jerks side to side a bit and squeels, it even left a vertical scratch on the tint, so i tried lubricating it that turne out like shit, just wondering if you ran into that problem b4
