power

precisely .

so with the disco 2860rs the power band would be the same as the s15 turbo? or would there be more low end torque plus an extra 30-40whp with the disco?

The power bands will be similar. The difference is that the rs has a larger compressor wheel trim and therefore will sacrifice low end torque for top end HP. Prolly an additional 10-20hp capability.

wow i didn’t know that, my understanding was the disco had more low end torque then the stock s15 turbine. i want my set up for time attack but would also do some drag. witch would you suggest to go with? s15, disco, gt2871r, or even top mount gt30 with full race twin scroll set up?

i should also mention im running 15psi daily on the stock s14 sr turbo and i am not satisfied that it all dies out by 5500rpm can you even get a s15 turbo to boost past 5500rpm? and run it at 18 psi? I need something i can run daily on the streets at 18-20 psi and also have plenty of pick up needed for over taking cars at mosport

Huh …

Looking at power graphs and driving around a gt2871r car (untuned), it felt like the stock sr had more balls even without full boost compared to stock t25.

At 3.5k, graphs show gt2871r’s hitting the same power level a t25 hits at its peak. I thought this would negate the effect of the lag. You guys that have drifted these bigger turbos know more then anyone about how the gt2871r behaves when you start sliding. Can I not enter a corner at 3.5-4k and expect the car to fly through the powerband, or like the t25 will it just do nothing? Because thats my whole goal. I want a turbo setup that will allow me to enter at like 3.5k - 4k in 3rd and be able to use my power. A t25 just falls off the face of the planet anywhere below 4500-4750. I litearlly have like 2500 rpms to play with when i drift right now, so gay.

And yeah, gt2871r with a .86 is retarded lag, i don’t want that.

i think the hks gt rs would be best, way more response then a gt2871r .64 even tho they say there the same i would think the extra 1500 your spending would make it a way better turbo, just cheek it here on you tube.

hks turbo is just rebranded nonsense bro, trust

the extra 1500 could be better spent, cams, springs, solid lifters etc …
