cept for the surface rust…my powder coater hasn’t come in yet

looking good!

i wired it the other night…off hand does anyone know how much power a walbro 255 can pull in terms of amps? te plug i have supports 8 amps (at 18gauge) i’m running 12 gauge through it each pump wired seperate.

12 guage is good for 20amps

yeah but i mean the connector itself is rated 8 amps…i’m hoping the size of the wire going into the connector raises that more

dont chance it. connectors are usually rated at a given amperage and shouldnt be ran any higher. the thing could get to hot and start to melt then you really have issues. you always want a connector and wire higher then the rated amperage but your fusible link the proper amperage size.

i have wire rated higher but the connecter was designed as crimp for 18gauge i hard soldered 12gauge to it

and i still dont 'know if the pumps pull more than 8 amps

Use a amp meter…

well…in order to do that i’d have to submerge hte pump in gas and supply power to it and then test the draw…i’ll skip that and ask someone haha

or… you could test it out on Jims car

assuming he has a walbro yeah…we still dont’ know what exactly he has
