Problem with HMT civic

Im helping a friend with a HMT setup on his '94 Honda Civic DX. The setup is

HF mani
TD04 mitsu turbo
DSM O2 housing running open til we get the thing done
2-1/4 inch charge piping
DSM BOV
DSM smic
DSM blue-top 450cc injectors
HF resistor box
running Uberdata basemap on kenji211.com socketed ECU

The car starts and idles, but runs very rough. The CEL is lit, but when I jump the harness, the SRS light fllashes, not the CEL (CEL stays lit). It gives the codes 50 and 11 (5 long, pause, 1 long 1 short). I don’t think it is the ecu because Kenji’s ECU are guaranteed to work.
I can’t figure out what is wrong. These codes dont even exist as far as I have searched. When I plug in a stock ecu the CEL goes away. If any one has a chipped p06 they could lend me for a few hours, that would be great. If any one is interested in coming out to give me a hand, there could be a cash reward for figuring out the problem. PM me for details.

the chip is bad. either a bad burn, or got fuct in shipping.

edit: was i supposed to call you for something?

The chips were included with the Uber kits I bought from Moates.net. They remained in the piece of foam until they were programmed with Burn1/Flashburn, then went right back into the foam. Also, when I verify the chip with the buffer in flashburn, the chip checks out. Would this still happen if the chip was bad.

Zerodaze: I left you a message earlier this week, but never heard back from you. I think I pmed you my number. Give me a call if get a chance.

Dinner and gas money for anyone willing to come give me a hand figuring this out. Car is located in lockport.

BTW, just came back from shop, tried every combination of 3 different chips and 2 different ecus, still no luck. with harness jumped, im getting 5 long 1 short 1 long 1 short, then solid. Also, I dont think I mentioned that the SRS light flashes rather than the CEL. CEL stays on, SRS flashes the codes. Is this a sgn that something could have been wrong to begin with. Car has a salvage title if that helps any.

a solid cell is a bad ecu/bad chip

there is NOTHING else that with give you a solid cel. other than maybe putting the chip in backwards.

try this program it my old tune from when i used to run uberdata.
if it burns properly, and the chip is in right, then its the ecu.

http://www.zer0daze.com/bins/guru.bin

When I go to load file to buffer, I get :

ERROR: File larger than selected chip. Load Failed.

Am I doing something totally retarded? The other bin’s loaded fine, but wont work in the ECU.

Is the start address supposed to be:000000
Is the end address supposed to be: 007FFF

Chip is an AT29C256.

this program is from uberdata 1.7ost, and uses all 256k of the chip, not just 32k

So how would I go about burning this program to the chip?

Using flashburn v5.8.F, Burn1 from moates.net

I THINK I GOT IT!:headbang:

Turns out that Kenji sent me am auto ecu, and forgot to remove RP17 and jump RP18. Took care of that, all I got was error 21 for vtec, due to this being a stock B7. Thanks for the help anyways.

Edit, Still cant figure out how to burn your bin to a chip Zerodaze. Ended up using b7tune2 on xenocron’s bin depository. I PM you sometime this week to set up some tuning time if your interested.

open a new bin in uberdata, and then just import mine.

why do you insist on using someone elses programs?? Its very easy to make your own base map. I hope you have some way to check your a/f ratio and i also hope you check out these chips to see where timing is set at before using. I dont trust any after market kenji, mugen, spoon blah blah blah. 99.9 percent are fakes and run like shit.

I thought it had something to do with the basemap that I made, so I tried experimenting with a few different ones. This was only to get the car to run with out a CEL. I haven’t even taken the car out of the garage yet. The ECU that I got from Kenji didnt even come with a basemap, just a socketed ECU, and he even managed to screw that up in a sense. I am going back down tomorrow with a basemap that I made.

Turbociv: I did use the site that you posted on the other site to create the basemap, so thanks for that. I thought it was something I was doing wrong with uberdata, but turned out that the ecu wasn’t fully converted from auto to manual. I made the required changes and that fixed the CEL problem. Now I’m waiting on the owner to come up with the required funds to get it tuned.

It’s not my car anymore, so if he wants to take it home and blow it up on the base map, more power to him. I really just used this project as a learning experience more than anything, and I think that I learned a lot in the process.
