professional clutch install :picard:

Sounds about right…

its like letting a friend borrow your car and he accidentally crashes it when you have no collision…

Its not like he intentionally tried to fuck you.

If i burrowed a friends car and crashed, you dam well better believe id be paying it off.We arent talking like 7 k here. Its only 2300 dollars or so. split between 2 people.Hell id make my own Father pay if he crashed my car.

This is what happens when everyone thinks they are a mechanic

This is also why you have REGISTERED/INSURED shop work on your car if you don’t have the skill set involved.

Pauls car sees the road what 60 miles a season and it’s broke and unable to run good track times…maybe thats a good indicator of someone you don’t want working on your car

I’d bet the reason you aren’t getting your $500 back is because it was already spent on crack and hookers.

That sucks.

Were these guys from EA?

No response? Maybe they :hang: from the humilation.

fucking lols

you damn scammer

I don’t know either party personally, so I’ve been trying to refrain from chiming in but what the heck. This sucks for both parties.

Mechanics doing side work can be a good thing for people who don’t want to pay $85/hr of labor, but you get what you pay for. There are very few people I would pay to work on one of my cars, shops included. You obviously used poor judgment when you hired these guys to do the work. I’m sure this was not an intentional mistake, although anyone with half a brain would have noticed it was wrong, or at least had the whereabouts to look at the instructions. It seems that either they should be working on lawn mowers instead of cars, or they were RUSHING to make a quick buck.

They should give you the $500 back, but you certainly shouldn’t expect more than that. Their poor workmanship should cost them any money they made, and time spent. Your poor judgment should cost you the damaged parts.

Thats class.

Hilarious…

Legally you have nothing. A smalls claims court would not even look at it w/o any kind of written documentation describing the work being done and the money exchanged. Hopefully they are busy arguing amongst themselves on how to come up with the money.

Call judge Judy?:meh:

Wow I was kind of in between when I figured this was a friend helping out a friend for a case of beer and pizza and they fucked up…

but for $500 i’d be hella pissed off.

I don’t blame the two “mechanics” for not replying yet… this is one fucked up situation they’ve landed themselves in. People talking about court are kidding themselves, that will never pan out, nor should it. A refund of the services rendered seems blatantly obvious even if you guys weren’t friends, but being friends… fuck I don’t even know what I’d do.

side note: this is why i never help anyone

If he doesnt pay/respond/do anything…

Everyone knows where Paul lives… :gotme:

Worked with CKY

A+++++ Would read again

i was there for the transmission removal, i noticed the gouges in the pp and told mike about it. i was also there for the first attempt at contacting the people involved and the response from one was “whats up? i dont feel like talking on the phone, ive had a shitty day. text me”

:fail:

what a shitty situation.

FYI you do have some recourse. I’d wait a few days and see how it plays out first.

Funny thing is I recalled another EVO owner here on the board took his car to a local shop with a good name for them selves and did the exact same thing. The first said the clutch needed to be broken in , luckly the owner did not buy it and returned it only to find the shop installed it backwards and had to bring in an outside help to install it right.

Wow, that’s some carnage…

Link to thread? What shops?

one clusterfuck at a time guys

leave the side convo for a different thread

Ouch…that blows…a lot. This is why I installed my $1400 SouthBend clutch for my Cummins myself…no chance for a fuckup. (I understand why you didn’t do it yourself though having surgery and whatnot…makes it even worse)
